40: The Revolution Part 2

"Mother?!" Serena and Pyro looked shocked. So it was actually a masked woman?

Her voice was still deep from the mask, "Fine, you got me." She took off her mask. Underneath was a beautiful woman with dark brown hair and red eyes, the color of blood.

Serena's eyes widened. She looked excatly like Giddion, only a female. She turned to Serena as Pyro spoke up.

"Gianna Oracle. Long time no see."

She chuckled, "Same to you, Pyro. I see you've gotten stronger since the last time I saw you." She said in an elegant and deep voice. Her red lipstick shined under the spotlight.

Commotion ensued in the crowd, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please," Gianna called for their attention, "I know you're confused, but let me tell you my story."

The spotlight changed to a sad blue. Pyro and Serena looked confused as they continued to look at her.

"Ten years ago, I was a young, beautiful mother of my two sons. I was married to the man in charge of Dreamix," dramatic music played in the background. Pyro and Serena looked so confused.

"All I wanted was to get my say. But Demetrius never listened to me! I wanted to release the nightmares so they would never hurt a dear human again!"

The crowd looked convinced as they cheered for her. Sad violin still played as she fell into one of the strong man's arms, "But alas! To no avail! I was sent to the pit! Forever crying in a pit for what felt like 100 years!"

Everyone looked at each other. Someone spoke up, "Our hero! Gianna!"

Everyone cheered as the violin ended. She exaggerated with her reaction as people clapped.

"No, please. You're all too much. However, I must continue!"

Everyone got quiet.

"My husband has thrown dozens of dreamers into the pit. Any dreamers who didn't follow his commands." Everyone looked up at Demetrius, who tried to leave.

"Get the adult baby." Gianna ordered as she looked at her scarlet nails. Two buff man grabbed him as they took him down the stairs.

A person nearby Damion snatches the ring, "The ring, Madame Oracle." The person ran up to her as she snatched the ring.

"Thank you." She took it as she looked back at Pyro. He stared confused.

"I just don't know how you got out." Pyro said softly.

"When you absorbed all the nightmares into this ring. The other 1st grade down there (me) was strong enough to get out."

She turned to the audience, "However, all the 2nd grade and 3rd grade that were sent down there weren't strong enough to resist the nightmares. They were possessed, mindless monsters. Poor souls." She said with her hand to her forehead.

Damion and Giddion looked at each other, surprised. Two people grabbed them and covered their mouths.

"Lock those two up." She commanded.

She turned to Pyro and Serena, "Pyro, thank you so much for everything. I can't wait to repay you." She stated at she, looked at his angry face.

"You know Gianna? Bite me."

She chuckled, "You were always so feisty. I can tell you and Serena work well together."

"What do you know about me?" Serena said, looking at Gianna evil grin.

"You see, I take interest in people who interest me. Rebelling against Demetrius and using nightmare manipulation after jumping out of a window. You'd think I'd notice something like that."

She looked at the ring. "Time to get my revenge." Suddenly, she threw it on the ground and stepped it. The ring shattered into millions of pieces.

"NO!" Pyro yelled as the man restrained him and covered his mouth. Suddenly, the room turned even darker. Shadows, nightmares, they flew out from the shattered crystal.

"Oh, my apologies! I forgot to mention. Releasing the nightmares won't save you. Prepare to live in hell!"

The people realized they had been tricked. All the people were screaming. Then, they ran as they trampled over each other.

Gianna laughed maniacally. She looked at the two men holding her husband.
"Get that rat out of my sight."

They took him away as she turned to the two of them.

"Well, now that I've released the nightmares, I have no need for the two of you."

She formed black dream energy in her hand, "But how I would love to take some power from you if you don't mind. "

They gasped as her hand got closer. Serena closed her eyes and flinched in anticipation.

Serena felt the room getting darker. Nightmares took up all the air, making everything smoky and dark. It was over. The apocalypse was here, and she was about to lose her only way to protect herself.

Just then, Gianna stopped using her power. She fell to the ground, wincing in pain.

"GAHHHHH!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING!" She yelled. Serena stared confused. What was happening?

"PYRO! WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING STOP!" She yelled. He wasn't doing anything. He just sat there.

The men guarding Serena and Pyro ran to help her. Serena and Pyro got up and bolted out the doors with everyone else.

"Ms. Oracle! They're getting away!" One man yelled, helping her up.

"It's fine," She stumbled, standing up, "They can't leave this city now. I have anvil time to get rid of them."

She chuckled, which evolved into a maniacal laugh.

Serena and Pyro got the ties on them cut. They ran into the city where everyone was in a panic. Nightmares were everywhere. Attacking people, chasing people. The sound of blaring cars and screams were all they could hear.

They looked up. A black essence was forming over the sky. It looked like the walls that Dreamers could form with their dreamer energy.

Pyro looked shocked, "She's trying to trap us here!" The veil above them was closing.

"Serena! Get out of the veil! Drive as far away from here as you can!"

She looked shocked. There was no time to say goodbye to him. She ran for her life through all the people. She felt rain start to fall during the dark night. Nightmares wailed as it echoed the city.

She reached the edge of the city. The veil was slowly closing as she ran for it.
She ran straight into the veil. She crashed into it and fell over. She was too late.

"UGH! DAMNIT!" She yelled as she slammed her fist against the veil.

She knew that Pyro would've wanted her to leave the city. She looked at the city. Chaos, nothing but Chaos.

She ran away. Somewhere in the city where no one could find her.

Pyro ran amongst the crowd of people. The nightmares wailed through the city. Pyro felt the same feeling he felt when he was in the pit. Not the pain, but the fear and discomfort. Suddenly, he crashed straight into Ariel.

"OW! Oh my god. Mateo, Mira, Ariel!" He smiled as he looked at the three of them.

"Where's Serena?"

"I told her to get out of here. She can go to the capital and maybe seek help there."

The three turned to the sound of Gianna's voice. They looked up to see Gianna standing on the top of a building.

"Take it down!" She yelled.

The nightmares shrouded around the Dreamer HQ. The windows shattered as the building fell to the ground. It crushed humans and cars, and other buildings. The Dreamer HQ was now nothing more than a pile of rubble.

The Dreamers stared in horror. Who was this woman? Gianna laughed maniacally.

"Let the Apocalypse begin!"
