It had already been a little more than three months since you and Shoto came to the hotel, and to say Shoto liked it here was an understatement. Everyone was friendly, there was always some type of festival going on, the food here was delicious, and just like you said, it was peaceful and lively here so there was no need for heroes.
There were multiple times the red and white haired male thought of staying here in this city rather than going back, and he was really considering it.
At the moment you and your boyfriend sat on the bed watching a random show that popped up. While Shoto was actually watching it you were in your thoughts about something that's been weighing on you for a while, but you didn't know how to bring it up to the other male.
Suddenly feeling down you sighed. "I'm gonna go use the bathroom.." You mumbled. Shoto lifted his head off of your shoulder then watched you walk away with furrowed brows. Earlier you were all happy and acting silly but judging by the tone of your voice that happiness was all washed away. But what changed your attitude?
Did he do something wrong? No, he highly doubts it. Was it something on the tv? Maybe? He scrambled through his thoughts trying to think of what could have caused your sudden change in mood but couldn't think of anything, causing him to get a bit frustrated.
In the bathroom you stood in front of the sink looking at yourself in the mirror. You knew Shoto had to go back to Yuuei. The case between you and him was different. Everyone missed him and only him. You could recall looking on social media two months into being here and seeing Shoto's missing face. His face was plastered practically on every social media platform. And not once had you seen your face or any mention of you. Yeah it maybe because he was the son of a well known hero and you weren't now that you think about it.
A little after being away your mom had texted you after coming back from being overseas asking where you were, you just told her you were fine and that Shoto was with you. You didn't tell her nor intend on telling her your whereabouts. After you talked to her that one time you haven't talked to her ever since, despite her blowing up your phone.
Now Shoto, he had everyone texting him non stop, but he never messaged any of them back, just ghosting them.
Your mom was the only one who cared about you, while everyone cared for the other.
You couldn't help but envy him. He had the things you wish you could've had. But the one thing you wanted more than anything was everyone's love and respect. Not their disgusted stares.
This was all because of your dad's villainous acts.
You clenched your fist, thinking about how the majority suddenly turned their backs on you after your father's stunt. It wasn't fair. It wasn't your fault your father decided to do some stupid shit, so why were you getting criticized?
You'd always been nothing but kind and respectful towards everyone yet they still think of you as Nine's child. The child who will turn against hero humanity when you least expect it.
Your boyfriend and you were quite opposites indeed. You had a mostly good childhood, he had a bad one, he was the son of a hero, you one of a villain, he stayed surrounded by praise and loving gestures while hate was thrown at you every which way.
All you could so was cover your face with your hands. You wouldn't dare cry and seem weak.
How could you cry over something like this and try to be a hero?
Be a hero?
Be a hero..
Could you be a hero?
Would you be counted as a hero?
