This whole book is based on a time shortly before The Lion Guard - Battle for the Pride Lands, at which time both Scar (Outlands) and Simba (Pridelands) were preparing for a big battle. Janja and hyenas had not been back-stabbed by Scar.
Before the final battle, Scar's army consists:
Ushari (second in command)
Janja (leader of the hyenas)
Rei Rei, Goi Goi (leads of the jackals)
Kiburi (leader of the banished crocodile float)
Mzingo (head of Outlands vultures)
Shupavu (head of skink spies)
Kenge (friend of Ushari, a powerful ally of the Outlanders)
Hyenas (Chungu, Cheezi, Nne, etc.), Jackals, vultures, crocodiles, skinks
Simba's Pridelands army and allies consist:
Simba (king and commander of the whole Pridelands army)
Kion (leader of the Lion Guards, second in command of the Pridelands army)
Lion Guards (Fuli, Bunga, Ono, Beshte)
Nala (queen), Kiara (princess), Zazu (advisor), Rafiki, Makini, Simba's pride (a dozen lionesses)
Makuu and crocodile float
Ma Tembo and elephants
Basi and hippos
Jasiri, Madoa and fellow hyena resistance
