THE MEETING ENDED IN SUCH a weird energy. Everyone went their own way, but it was clear they had their own thoughts as well.
Annabeth and I went to talk to Chiron but he said the morning would be best. So I just went on with my day. I wasn't able to see Leo all day and really wanted to.
I asked Jason if he knew but he said he didn't know. I asked Nyssa and she said he was probably building the ship. Nyssa told me where it was and I walked there. It was were I broke the door handle the night before we went to the quest.
I opened the door with the new installed handle and saw Leo and many other kids of Hephaestus working. Jake was the only one to turn around. He smiled at me pointing at Leo with a thumbs up.
I made a face of confusion but still went to Leo. I saw a ton of tools everywhere and Leo was looking at the crayon drawing.
"So, I guess that would be the ship."
Leo jumped turning towards me with eyes wide.
"Sorry," I said taking a step back. "I didn't mean to scare you."
He shook his head. "It's okay."
I sat down on a rolling chair. "I can wait."
"I don't think I will finish today."
"I know," I grabbed his hand. "I want to go on a walk with you. Just steal you for a little. You'll be back in no time."
Leo bit his lip looking around his work space. "We can go now. I haven't started anything yet."
I smiled looking up at him. "If that's okay for you. I'm free all day."
He pulled me up. "We can go now."
We walked out still holding hands. We walked around the forest as Leo just talked about the ship and how he's going to build it. Its my fault anyways, because I asked.
I felt myself not even care though. I smiled watching him just talk and talk.
His face turned pink. "Sorry, I'm just talking."
I chucked. "That's okay. I like hearing you talk."
He smiled looking down at his feet. "Why did you want to walk?"
I stopped facing him. "I owe you something."
Leo frowned thinking. "I don't think so."
I pulled him closer to me putting my hands on his waist. "Again, I'm going to ask you. If you don't want this, tell me now."
Leo didn't say anything.
I pulled him closer and moved our faces towards each other. The moment our lips touched I felt a sudden burst in my chest. I thanked Aphrodite in my head. Leo wrapped his arms around my neck deepening the kiss. I groaned softly trying to pull him closer even though it wasn't possible.
I pulled us away feeling myself getting a little too excited. "We have to stop."
Leo looked confused.
"It we continue, you wont got back to build."
Leo's face went red understand. "Oh."
I let go of his waist and grabbed his hand. "Come, let's head back."
Leo nodded. We walked side by side each other with shit grins on our faces talking about anything. We stopped at the entrance of the bunker.
"I will let you go just this once," I said letting his hand go. "Next time, you're all mine."
Leo moaned then quickly covered his mouth. I laughed pulling him into my arms. He dug his face in my chest. I kissed the top of his head. "I'll see you tomorrow, alright."
He nodded in my chest. I held him a little longer but then pulled away.
"You have things to do," I said cupping his face kissing him one more time. He just felt so perfect.
"Bye," I muttered letting him go.
"Bye," he said going in the bunker giving me one more look smiling.
I jumped onto my bed feeling like a teenager having his first girlfriends. "Grow up," I muttered to myself. I smiled covering my eyes with my elbow. Today, wasn't so bad. What I didn't know, was that I would start the day feeling my life crashing down. Annabeth and I went to Chiron early in the morning so no one would interrupt.
I had a hoodie on and sweat pants. Annabeth was already in camp shirt and jeans. We sat in the couch waiting for Chiron. I felt nervous. Having so much doubts going through my head.
"Sorry for keeping you both waiting," Chiron rolled towards us.
"It's okay," Annabeth said looking at me. "Alister told me something that I think you should know about."
Chiron then faced me. "What happened?"
I swallowed the nervousness down. "I—well, first, why did they call me the son of Bellona and not Enyo?"
Chiron nodded. "I'm sure you know that answer to that," he didn't even give me a chance to guess. "Your mother, Enyo, she is not viewed as much as you think. We already have Athena and Ares, why would we need another war god? Many believe she wasn't important, so she decided to just not be greek anymore. She only shows herself in her roman form. The roman believe that she is only a roman goddess, not greek."
"But I thought she was viewed as important," I said. "Wasn't she as worthy as Athena."
"Yes, however, many still saw Athena more than her. Your mother chose to part herself as just a roman goddess. For example, for the romans, Ares or in Rome Mars, he is not as cared for as he is for the greeks. It's Bellona for them. She is the goddess of war, and Athena or Minerva isn't liked as much. Bellona is more loved for the romans than the greeks."
I nodded. "So she is more popular with the romans than the greeks."
"Yes, that could be why they called you the son of Bellona because they do not know that she has a greek form as well."
I hummed. "I guess that makes sense."
Annabeth looked at me to continue.
"Umm, also, lately I have been feeling different," I paused thinking that the way I phrased it wasn't the best. "Well, not sexually, it sounded like I meant sexually but its not," I felt my face heat up. "I meant, like—well not like—its—I understand Jason a little. When he was frustrated on not having memories, but for me it's more like I have a feeling I'm missing information. It kinda started before we started the quest. I was like on a cloud—not high, but like my mind is just all over the place."
I stopped rambling feeling self conscious.
Chiron looked confused but nodded. "You believe there is something missing, correct."
I nod. "I thought maybe it was about Gaea, but I know and I still have that feeling."
"He also told me that when he found his father necklace, it was stronger. The feeling was stronger," Annabeth said helping me.
Chiron frowned touching his bread. "What necklace?"
I went to my neck and took off my father military necklace giving it to Chiron. When he saw the necklace, he grimaced. He looked days older.
Annabeth and I looked at each other. I suddenly began to think of the worst.
"What happened," Annabeth moved closer. "Is it important?"
Chiron sigh running his fingers over the necklace. "I prayed that this day would come after the great prophecy."
I felt like throwing up. "What? What do you mean?"
Chiron put the necklace on the table. I didn't grab it feeling like maybe I should have not even brought it.
"Your father died with that necklace," Chiron said still looking at the necklace.
"But—that's doesn't make sense. He's in the grave. How did it end up in Medeas shop," I felt my hand start to shake.
"If the necklace touched the ground, or dirt just a little, Gaea could have taken it just to spike you," Chiron finally looked at me. "She gave you what you had always wanted."
"To bribe Alister into joining her and not being apart of the eight," Annabeth said understanding.
Chirons nods. "Yes, a possibility."
"Can it be possible that it is a replica? I mean Medea could do anything," I said.
"Possibly, yes, but I would not get my hopes up. It looks very similar," Chiron looked back at the necklace. "It being in Medeas shop is very convenient when you ended up there. But your father was a wanted man among the gods world. Spiking you would be a great pleasure on getting back to your father."
Annabeth frowned. "His father was a wanted man?"
"Yes," Chiron said through a sigh. "He knew too much about our world that many gods wanted to kill him. But he was a great secret keeper. Many secrets he knew went down with him in the grave."
Annabeth and I waited for him to tell us what secrets.
"He knew about the romans and where they reside. Your mother, as I said early, is usually only in her roman form. She showed herself to your father in her roman form first. She thought maybe he wouldn't notice the different forms, but just like you, he was very observant. He noticed almost immediately and question her about it. Your mother, during that time, was in love with two people. Your father being one, and the father of two other girls, who are roman."
I felt cold suddenly and dizzy.
"Your mother then explained everything to him and he understood that he shouldn't tell anyone about anything. Zeus however, was not happy when he found out and send monsters to kill him. Ares and Enyo fought the monster for him. Of course he had to fight some, but the both gods where by his side. Ares, as you know, fell in love with your aunt so he felt the need to take care of them both as well. It was three years later after knowing Enyo, where you father and mother had you.
"When your father found out, he wasn't so happy. He didn't want a kid with a god, he wanted a normal life. He came by camp a while when your mother told him about it with you. He will keep you here while he had to go and fight in the mortal world. When Zeus found out about his kids taking care of the one he wanted to kill. Zeus went to kill you, but Hera stopped him. She came by once to see you while you where at camp.
"At the time I didn't know why, but I know now. Your father started learning about the prophecies and started obsessing over them. He believed that you where going to be a hero and save the world. He would ask me non stop question about the prophecy. Then he was in a quest. Your father was able to see through the mist and it helped the quest. They did the quest in success. Your father was then called to Olympus and Zeus talked with him. They both agreed on something. When you where eight, you would live in camp half blood and only go back to your father for summer."
"Which is why I got here when I was eight," I said.
"Yes, your father kept his promise to Zeus. Zeus had him swore to the river styx about never speaking about the romans or the greeks. Your father did in one condition, to make Zeus also swear to the river styx on never hurting you, resulting also in take care of you. Zeus not wanting the greeks and romans to know each other, he agreed."
I started thinking about everything. When I went on the plane back to New York after "fighting" Ares, we weren't struck down. Thalia driving the bus, we were also not struck down. When I had Jasons javelin and lighting went on the Enceladus, it didn't effect me.
"So, Zeus can't hurt me."
"Yes."
I nod. "So if my father knew about the greeks and the romans, did he ever visit the camp for romans?"
Chiron sigh. "That I do not know. Your father was a very private person, so is your mother."
"And about the necklace—"
"I can ask Rachel if she can do something so you guys can check just in case. But I will say this. Don't put your hopes up. I wished this happened after the Great Prophecy but this is going to put more on your shoulders. Don't let it get to you so much. You'll be fine."
With that Chiron looks at me with dread. "I have to get going, so do you. I will ask Rachel. Expect an answer by an hour or so."
He nods at us and goes back to his office.
Annabeth and I sat there in silence.
I looked at the necklace scared to pick it up. It was as if everything hit me as a tidal wave. I hid my face in my hands.
I was just told that my father didn't actually want me. He knew about both camps. My mother was in love with two people during the time she had me. My father was a wanted man to the gods world. Gaea could be possible messing with me about personal reasons. I might not even be greek because my mother showed my father both forms. And I might go see my fathers grave after five years of not going there.
I didn't even realize I was sobbing until I felt arms wrap around me which made me only cry more.
I was always told to be strong. My mother hated weakness and had crying as a weakness. I knew I was weak, I am weak.
"Sorry," I said through sobs. "I'm being super sensitive over nothing. I'm overreacting."
I wiped away my tears with my arms as Annabeth grabbed both of my hands.
"You're not too sensitive, and you're not overreacting. If it hurts you, it hurts you," she had a few tears as well. "I know you weren't expecting that, neither was I. That was a lot of information. You're just overwhelmed right now. It's okay to feel that."
I leaned back against the coach feeling Annabeth rubbed my hands with her thumb. I looked up at the ceiling.
"I just wish I disappear," I said trying not to cry again.
"Sometimes you think that you want to disappear but all you really want is to be found."
"Stop, you're going to make me cry again."
I spent most of the time after breakfasts practicing my fighting with Jason. I picked up the roman technique pretty quickly mostly since I already was able to do some against the giant king. Jason keep frowning at me every once in a while. Maybe he picked up that I wasn't in the best mood.
We were both stand around having a break. I wore the sweat pants from the morning and I took my hoodie off, which didn't have a shirt under. Jason was in short and camp half blood t shirt.
"I thought you would be there yesterday."
I frowned at Jason. "Where?'
He looked confused. "Where Leo told us his destiny about the ship and where he showed us he was able to make fire."
"Oh," was all I said. That was the least of my worries. "Guess he didn't invite me because I already knew."
"You knew?"
I shrug. "Yeah, made it out pretty quickly."
"Like how you found out I was roman without me saying anything," Jason said crossing his arms.
"I'm actually pretty intelligent, believe it or not," I raised my eyebrow.
He rolled his eyes. "I already knew that."
I snort. "Of course you did. The son of Jupiter always knows everything."
He rolled his eyes again nudging me. "How is you and Leo?"
I faced him confused. "What you mean?"
"What do you mean, what do you mean? I'm his best friend."
I smirked. "Ohh okay. How are you and Piper? I'm her best friend."
His eyes narrowed annoyed with me.
I laughed shaking my head. "Locor, iocari. (I'm joking, I'm joking)"
"You know latin."
I nod. "Most know it. Not fluently though. I just know something here and there. So if you wish to speak in latin to hid secrets, I'm your guy."
He nods. "Okay, okay. Then tell me, cur malus es in mente? (Why are you in a bad mood?)"
I laughed nervously. "I talked with Chiron this morning."
"About what?"
Something about Jason that I really like is that he waits patiently. Since the beginning I told him my whole life story. He knows me better than Piper and Leo. Something about him just screams 'trust'. Which also maybe isn't the best.
"Graecus esse non possim et sepulcrum patris mei hodie adibo, (I may not be greek and I might go visit my father's grave today)" I said quickly.
Jason didn't say anything for a moment. "You have siblings over there."
"Really? Chiron told me about it, but he didn't elaborate it."
"Her name is Reyna. We went on a lot of quest together."
"Is she—"
"Alister!"
Jason and I turned around. Annabeth and Rachel were there waving me over.
Jason patted my back. "Good luck. I will be here if you need someone to talk to. Leo would also stop to listen."
I nodded and mumbled a thanks walking over to Annabeth and Rachel.
"Pack up, we are leaving in a hour," Annabeth said.
"Okay," I said. "What do I bring?"
"Nothing really," Rachel said. "We are just going to open your fathers casket and see if he has the necklace then we are out of there."
I nod. "Okay, let me just put something else on."
I didn't change. I went to grab my hoodie and put a shirt on then went straight to the bunker of Hephaestus.
Leo was of course working as well as many other kids of Hephaestus.
I went up to him wrapping my arms around his waist then kissed the side of his neck. "Hello," I whispered in his ear.
"Hey," he said putting everything down turning towards me.
I kissed him softly pulling away but leaving my hand on his waist. "I'm leaving for a while. I'll be back though. Probably in a couple of hours."
"Where you going," he asked.
I hugged him shoving my head in between his shoulder and neck. "My fathers grave. I'll be back quickly."
Yet that last part was said mostly to myself. I felt Leo hum.
"Are you going by yourself?"
"No, Annabeth and Rachel are going with me," I said pulling away cupping his face smiling. "You'll be fine without me, right?"
He smiled. "No, I'm going to miss you." He pouts.
I groaned and kissed the pout. I almost threw the plans out for him. "Don't do that."
Leo pulled me to him connecting our lips for a lingering kiss. His hand went through my hair and I shivered. He pulled on it slightly and I moaned.
"Would you two stop?"
Leo and I pulled away. Nyssa was there crossing her arms and Annabeth was also there.
Leo was red and the tip of his hair was on fire.
I looked at them both annoyed. Every time it gets good, I get interrupted. "What?"
Annabeth made a face. "We are about to leave."
I sigh looking at Leo who was tapping his hair to make the fire go away. I kissed him once more and I walked out dreading what's to come.
