Touka's Secret

Anteiku was a nice and small coffee shop close to my school. I was a little surprised to learn that Touka and Kanei actually lived in the backrooms of Anteiku. Though I suppose that's due to the manager being a nice enough guy to let his workers stay if they want to. Certainly saves Touka and Kanei from paying rent. I've actually volunteered here a few times too when Touka or Kanei needed a break or if they had to do some homework.

Currently, I was sat down at the front of Anteiku with Touka in her barista uniform. It was a simple light and dark coloured suit and a black apron. The sun was beginning to set and the store was pretty much empty with most of the workers clocking out. I was the only customer here.

Mutasim: So is this all you wanted to do after school? Hang out like usual?

Touka's cheeks flushed a slight red.

Touka: W-Well... Yeah, but... I also have something to show you. But I'd rather wait until night.

Mutasim: Well you won't have to wait long. Sun's bound to go down any minute now.

I remarked while turning my head to look out the window. The sky was a mixture of orange light and a dark blue-ish colour. Sometimes when I was alone, I'd spend the last moments of day just looking at the sunset. I don't think people really appreciated the beauty of this world when it was there.

Touka: Alright. And... What do you think about Izuki's situation?

I let out a low sigh and turned back around to face Touka.

Mutasim: Well, she's definitely too shy to ask for help. But we've got to do something for her. If this keeps up, she's gonna get destroyed.

Touka: Yeah. Usually, I'd stay out of it, but we all know what that explosive idiot is like. He'll get too carried away and Izuki might not recover.

Mutasim: I just wish she'd let us help her. Maybe we should just tell Bakugo's parents anyway. I know its wrong to go behind her back and all, but...

Touka: I know what you mean. I'd actually have done it by now, but I don't know where he lives. And Izuki doesn't seem to share that information. Its difficult for me to wrap my head around, but why do you think Bakugo has bullied Izuki for so long? Its been happening since they were little kids.

Mutasim: I really don't know. Maybe he just gets off to being a bastard.

Touka: I wouldn't rule that out.

She said with a slight smile on her lips. Once I finished my coffee, the sun had completely fallen and darkness shrouded the sky. Touka closed up the shop and went back to her room to get changed. My wait was short-lived as she left the backroom almost instantly in her usual outfit consisting of a long sleeved blue top, shorts and boots.

Mutasim: Ready?

She nodded slowly and... hesitantly? I wasn't sure what it was, but I'd support Touka regardless. Unless she says she identifies as an imaginary gender or something, but let's not go into that. We left Anteiku and began to walk down the street light illuminated streets. There were still people hanging around and walking back to their homes. As we walked, I noticed Touka keeping her head down and she was debating on whether to keep close to me or to keep herself a certain distance. In all honesty, I've never seen her like this and its... actually kinda scary. I stopped for a moment and held her by her shoulder gently.

Mutasim: Hey, Touka?

Touka: Y-Yes?

Mutasim: Are you okay? You seem a little out of it.

Touka: Of course I'm fine. I just... Never mind. I'll tell you once we're somewhere alone.

Mutasim: We were alone in Anteiku.
