AURELIE HAD BEEN PEACEFULLY MINDING HER BUSINESS, (well actually, more chilling on her couch and reading a book while music played silently in the background) waiting for her sister Zoë for her annual visit, when it rang at her door.

Full of excitement to see her sister again (a year without seeing her was sometimes extremely lonely, considering that Zoë was the person she loved the most) Aurelie jumped off the couch and ran through the door and the hallway to the door.

The first thing she noticed when she opened the door was that her sister wasn't alone. The boy and the girl with her both looked a bit puzzled and like they'd fought recently (it made her feeling a bit bad, because she was wearing sweatpants and an old sweater and probably looked like a complete mess).

"Um, hi?" Aurelie greeted.

The boy started saying, "Um, sorry to interrupt, but, um, we have to— "

Zoë cut him of by hugging Aurelie. "Good to see thee again, sis."

Aurelie laughed. "I've always been around, never gone away."

"I know," Zoë said. "I just want thee to know that—"

"I'm just teasing thee," she said. "You should know that."

Zoë smacked her arm. "Go to hell."

The boy cleared his throat.

"Oh, sorry," Aurelia said— she'd completely forgotten that the other two teenagers were with them. "Want come in?"

The silence after Aurelie had guided her sister and two strangers in her living room was kind of — actually more than just kind of— uncomfortable. Probably because the boy and the girl had no idea in whom's house they were or what to do, and Aurelie didn't know who they were.

"I don't want to be rude," the boy said, "but who are you? Zoë only said we were going to ask her sister for a ride, but nothing more."

"I'm Aurelie, Aurelie Nightshade," she introduced herself. "And who are you two?"

"Percy Jackson," the boy said. "And this is—"

"Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus," the girl interrupted him. "I can introduce myself, Kelp head."

The boy— Percy— rolled his eyes.

"So, what can I do for you?" Aurelie asked. "I guess our annual visit is over— though it has never really started."

Zoë nodded. "I'm sorry for that, Ali, but we need your help."

"With what?" she demanded.

"Artemis is in danger," Zoë said.

"And Annabeth," Percy added.

Zoë rolled her eyes. "Yeah, this foolish girl too, but only because she was stupid enough to got herself kidnapped."
