She stands in the rain, just to hide it all
If you ever turn around
I won't let you fall down now
I swear I'll find your smile
And put my arms above you
And make you unbreakable

----

And I need, I need, need
To show her what her heart is for
It's been mistreated badly
Now her world has started falling apart

Third Person Perspective~

THE night air hung heavy with tension as Rory and JJ retreated to the deserted dock after Topper had left, away from the prying eyes and the well-meaning concern of their friends, leaving them inside the restaurant. The distant sounds of waves lapping against the shore provided a melancholic backdrop.

The moon hung low in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the dock where Rory and JJ stood in the midst of their emotional tempest. Waves crashed against the wooden pilings, a symphony of turmoil mirroring the chaos within their hearts.

"What happened?" Rory asked, her voice meek and dry, as she was unsure of why she had been led out here by her boyfriend.

"What happened?" JJ repeated her words. His jaw clenched as he watched Rory, a mix of anger and fear etched across his face. "Rory, what were you thinking? You just ran off, leaving us all behind. Do you have any idea how worried I was? You can't just run off like that, especially with all this heat on us!"

"I had to help Sarah and John B, JJ. They're in trouble," Rory explained, her eyes reflecting the exhaustion and anxiety that lingered beneath her brave façade. "He's innocent, and I couldn't stand by while he's accused of something he didn't do, and is being chased like a dog in the street..."

"You can't keep doing this, Rory," JJ pleaded, his eyes reflecting the waves of frustration crashing within him. "I can't handle the thought of losing you and you fucking know that... Every time you go off on some reckless mission, I feel like I'm watching you walk away, not knowing if you'll come back to me,"

"I couldn't let my brother face this alone, J. I had to do something," Rory replied by with solemn voice, her eyes welling up with tears. Her gaze dropped to the weathered wooden planks beneath her feet. "JJ, you have to understand. John B is my twin brother. I can't turn my back on him, not when he needs me the most."

"And I understand that!" His frustration surged, and he raked a hand through his disheveled hair. "But you could've been killed! Do you even realize how close you came to getting caught? To getting hurt?" His ocean orbs were sharp and piercing as they bore into hers with desperate anger.

Tears welled up in Rory's eyes as the weight of the situation crashed down on her. "I couldn't abandon John B. He's my brother, JJ,"

"You think I don't know that?" JJ's voice grew sharper, the anger escalating. "But you're not fucking invincible, Rory! You can't just charge into danger without so much as thinking," He continued, panting with anger. "You went and lunged right into danger, going with your brother to stop the speeding plane...you know how fucking terrified I was? Thinking that, that's it! Damn it! I really thought that the plane wasn't gonna stop...fucking hell!" He rambled as he paced around on the dock, angrily punching a wooden pillar nearby as Rory's wide eyes watched. "I can't fucking lose you. I won't." JJ concluded sharply.
