They aren't gonna help us
Too busy helping themselves
They aren't gonna change this
We gotta do it ourselves
They think that it's over
But it's just begun

----

Don't say you're too tired to fight
It's just a matter of time (can run)
Up there's the finish line
So run, and run, and run

THE rest of the night passed by in a blur. I had broken my slumber the second the sun's rays hit my face and now I was sat with my back against the wall while, JJ's head was in my lap as he slept, my hands playing with his hair, intertwining and combing through the unruly mess of golden locks.

After Topper had dropped me off at the Wreck last night we slept here, for most part that is. We were all still on high alert and worried.

Excluding me and JJ--who stayed by my side the entire time-- everyone took turns to stay on lookout. Now, I find Kie sleeping on one of the booths beside me, and Pope on the opposite, far corner, still fast asleep. Carter was awake, just like me, sat with his elbows resting on his knees on the dock outside as he watched the sunrise in the small amount of quite we are getting. The echoes of the police sirens were like the background music that I was getting used to now.

My heart was still beating fast; worry still gripped me hard as I wondered where John B and Sarah are now.

After meeting up with my brother in the bell tower, I was so relieved to find him in one piece and safe. He still looked scared and exhausted, but at least he wasn't caught yet and he was okay.

Topper's interruption caused my heart rate to escalate, as he found us three up on the tower, but because of his feelings for Sarah, he helped us out. And he even dropped me off to the Wreck, he noticed that I was in no condition to walk myself down Figure Eight to the restaurant. It kind of really changed my perspective of him.

Topper Thornton...he may have the anger of a nine year old, but he isn't all that bad, I guess. Well, at least not as bad as Rafe. I still remember how he wanted to help me when Rafe had jumped me and Pope.

I get it; he wants to stay in Rafe's good books. Rafe is, after all the kook prince, and being friends with the kook prince is good for his reputation.

I still saw the good him in though. Because even though Topper's got issues with my brother—seen as he's now with Sarah; who used to be Topper's girlfriend—he still helped him get away. And despite all the insults I've thrown at him all these years, of the fight we'd gotten into on the Bone yard, he helped me and brought me back to my friends.

I vaguely remember that I told him I could get inside myself after I climbed out of his car while stumbling, but he even guided me inside the Wreck to JJ and the Pouges.
