Part 9~Clan Freedom

Nagisa shot up as his phone lit up. "I found her!"

Keiji shot out of bed, falling on the floor. "I'm okay. What's going on?" Viola barked, jumping after her master and sniffing him.

Nagisa rolled his eyes fondly, offering a hand for Keiji to take. He pulled Keiji back on the bed as he wrapped an arm around Nagisa, laying his chin on Nagisa's head. Viola bounced up, settling back in her place by the boys.

Octavia didn't even wake up from her perch above the boys.

"I found a K kid."

"One survived?" Keiji frowned, looking at Nagisa's screen. "It's 2 am? No, we're going back to sleep." He reached out to take Nagisa's phone, but Nagisa held it away.

"No."

"Nagisa." Keiji gave Nagisa a look as Nagisa sighed, handing Keiji his phone. Keiji lifted the phone with his mind, placing it out of the smaller's reach. He curled around Nagisa, hugging him as he snuggled closer.

Nagisa sighed, leaning into the touch before closing his eyes and letting himself fall asleep. Or letting Keiji think that. He reached a tentacle up, about to take back his phone, when he felt Keiji slap his tentacle.

"Go to sleep."

Nagisa huffed, knowing he couldn't fool Keiji.

Nagisa slurped the mystery black liquid he had prepared himself, somehow not making a face as he did.

Keiji grumbled as he walked in, stealing Nagisa's bowl and taking one regretful bite before pushing it back. "Are you going to tell me why you woke me up last night?"

Nagisa nodded, unbothered, as he ate his way through the 'meal'. "I managed to contact the K kid. Her name is Koko, and she's part of the Freedom clan."

"The Freedom clan?"

Nagisa gave Keiji a look. "Seriously? Aren't you meant to be the social one? The freedom clan, the group that was always planning to run away from the lab and go to America."

Keiji's eyes widened as he nodded. "Right, the American Idiots, the ones who hated us. I thought they died."

"They thought we died. I looked over the footage and saw them getting out. I managed to follow them and track down a number to get in contact with them. Koko is going to help us."

"Really? That's amazing."

"Glad you think so because they're staying here."

"What?!"

"They don't exactly have anywhere to go. It's just while Esumi contacts her family."

"I don't care. We barely have food as it is."

Nagisa sighed, putting his phone down before turning to Keiji. "Please, Jiji?"

Keiji turned away, closing his eyes.

"Please?"

"Fine. For you." Keiji leaned his head against Nagisa's as Nagisa smiled.

"Don't worry, I'll steal something on the way home."

"How about stealing us some breakfast?"

Nagisa grinned, his tentacles growing out as he disappeared, returning with a breakfast bagel.

"Did I ever tell you I love you?" Keiji grabbed the bagel, missing how Nagisa froze, staring in shock.

Keiji didn't realise until Octavia was working to snap Nagisa back to reality.
