"Understand? Stick to your basic vocabulary when discussing sexual exploits. For example, if Carrie tells you, 'I call my boyfriend 'Mr Big', all you really need to say is 'Really?' and she'll go into all the juicy details. Kimura, say 'Really?'"
Kimura attempted to say the word. He failed.
"Nope. You've got the 'L' and 'R' mixed up! You have to pronounce 'L' and 'R' correctly! You're saying it with an accent. To blend in as an assassin, you have to get rid of your accent. That way, you can seem to be from anywhere. You've got to face your shortcomings and overcome them. Improve your tongue work, and I'm going to pay close attention to your pronunciation from now on. Speaking of tongue as punishment, if you make a mistake with your 'L' and 'R' again, I'll French kiss you in front of the whole class."
Nagisa shivered as she said that, sitting as far back as possible. Karma chuckled softly as Keiji repeated the words under his breath.
~~~
"Ms Vitch sure has a pervy mind. She's always making sex jokes. And I don't think that sitcom she showed us is appropriate for junior high students." Karma laughed as Nagisa scowled.
"She's lucky she's a good teacher."
Keiji nodded absonmindly. "I heard watching TV shows is a good way to learn a foreign language."
"I'm not sure if that would work for you. You need to be able to read the subtitles to understand what's being said." Nagisa glanced back as Keiji huffed.
"I'm getting better."
"He is getting better," Karma nodded, wrapping an arm around Keiji's shoulders. "He managed a full sentence the other day."
"Yeah!" Keiji threw his hands up before he frowned. "Hey! I can do more than that!"
Karma laughed, raising his hands peacefully. Nagisa smirked, speaking into Keiji's head. "Yeah, you do more when you cheat."
Keiji scowled, crossing his arms. "I didn't cheat."
Nagisa rolled his eyes, grabbing Keiji's hand. "Don't look so sad. You are getting better."
Keiji's eyes flickered, a smile forming. "You think."
Karma smiled. "Of course. Now, the bigger question is if you can get good enough before the next set of exams." Karma started to walk off. "I still don't get how you got top fifty but can't go through one class without the Bitch screaming at you."
Nagisa shook his head, walking off when he noticed Keiji. He hadn't moved. "What's wrong?"
Keiji lifted his head. "There's an intruder in the school."
Cursing, Nagisa charged into the school, Keiji following him. Karma blinked, looking back. "What? What did I miss?!"
~~~
Skidding to the side, Nagisa saw Jelavich hanging from the wall, the snare around her throat. Someone was staring at her, a dark look on his face. "What a surprise... you as a teacher, Irina? A pleasant class with you students, friendly chitchat after. It was like watching a comedy skit."
"Ms Vitch!" Nagisa rushed in, pulling his knife out in a flash. The man stepped back, avoiding the attack as Nagisa spun, kicking him back into the wall.
He let out a strangled sound as he found himself unable to move. It was like a thousand tons of steel weighing on him. He shifted his gaze and spotted the boy at the edge of the corridor, his hair fluttering and his eyes glowing.
Nagisa ran to Ms Vitch, jumping on the wall and throwing the rope away from her neck. "Are you okay?"
"Yes," Ms Vitch stared in shock. She had never seen Nagisa move that fast. What was that attack he used?
"What is going on here?" Karasuma stared, looking between the group as Karma ran in. "Who are you? Speak a language I can understand."
Nagisa motioned to Keiji to release the man as he cleared his throat, standing up. The man kept an eye on Keiji as he addressed Karasuma. "No problem. I am a polyglot, after all. Relax. I'm the one who recommended Irina to your Country's government. Does that serve as a proper introduction?"
Karasuma nodded, turning to Nagisa. "Leave; it's okay."
Nagisa scoffed, standing up and glaring at Lovro as he passed. He grabbed Keiji and Karma, pulling them away as they stopped around the corridor.
"By the way, where is that Koro-sensei fellow?"
"He left around half an hour ago, so he should be back soon."
Ivro laughed, a smirk stretching across his lips. "Exactly the monster they described. I'm glad I came. I have my answer now. Irina, as of this moment, you are no longer on this contract. This is not the job for you."
"What? Why? You recommended her."
"Too many variables have changed. This job doesn't suit her talents anymore. When employing her charm and wit to get close to a target, she is unmatched. But once the target is on to her, she's a mediocre assassin at best. You should have left after your first attempt failed. Instead of sticking around to play a school teacher. I taught you better than that."
"No!" Jelavich stood up, glaring as she held her hand to her heart. "I can do this job. I promise you, sir. I have what it takes."
Ivro hummed. "Then-" he shot around, grabbing Vitch from behind and putting his thumb to her neck. "Let's see you move like this."
Keiji grabbed Nagisa, stopping him from charging out there and punching the smug jerk.
"I have other jobs better suited to your skill set. You shouldn't waste your time and resources here. Learn and accept defeat. Let someone better do this job. The other transfer student is more than capable and can't wait to join this class. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. You were pointing out your students' failed pronunciation a moment ago. Isn't your failure in this classroom your personal 'L' and 'R'?"
"Ding ding ding! That's half right and half wrong!" Koro-sensei beamed as he pulled Ivro and Vitch apart.
"What's your point, quiz show?" Karasuma gritted his teeth as Koro-sensei chuckled.
"I do love game shows. It's about time you start calling me by my name, though. And yea, as an assassin, her skills are crap." Koro-sensei ignored Jelavich's defiant screams. "But, she is the perfect assassin for this classroom. So how about a little test? Let's see which one of you is the better assassin."
~~~
"You getting the feeling this is going to go badly?" Keiji crossed his arms as he walked outside.
Nagisa nodded. "It would be a shame to lose Jelavich."
Karma hummed. "I don't see it."
~~~
The class counted, moving through the attacks as they stood on the poles, one foot on each.
"Mr Karasuma, over there," Hinomo leaned down, balancing on one pole as she pointed across the field.
Koro-sensei, Jelavich and Ivro all hid behind the trees, watching Karasuma greedily.
"Just ignore them." Karasuma really wished it was that simple. Today, he was the target.
~~~
As class ended, Jelavich bounced over, holding a drink in her hand. "Mr Karasuma! Nice work! You must be thirsty! Here, have a cold, refreshing drink!"
The class went silent as they watched Jelavich try to give Karasuma the drink. He scowled, rolling his eyes with a deep sigh. "I bet it's a muscle relaxant. You'll hit me with the knife once I can't move. There's no way I'm going to get close enough to you to take the cup from you."
Jelavich forced a smile on her face, putting the drink down. "Oh! Wait! I'll leave it here!" Jelavich's foot slipped from under her as she wined. "How about a piggyback ride, Mr Karasuma?"
Karasuma walked away. Isogai sighed, helping her up. "Ms Vitch, even we wouldn't fall for that."
"What choice do I have?! It's impossible for me to seduce someone I know in a natural way! A hostess would feel awkward if her father suddenly showed up as a customer, right?! It's like that!" Jelavich cursed as he hung her head.
She needed to kill Karasuma, but she had no idea how.
