a/n: again, the timing is confusing...i thought the novel said break was only 4 days, but it's said that Seon Ahyun went to counseling for a few weeks when he supposedly started counseling during the break so...just ignore the timing stuff

[ Park Moondae's POV ]

When I woke up, I was cuddled into Seungmin's arms. He himself was deep asleep, and I wasn't sure if I had unconsciously gotten into his hold or if he did this himself. Either way, I felt my face heat up. I squirmed out and rolled to the side.

I checked the time on my phone on the bedside desk. My new phone.

It ran much smoother and faster than my old one, and it took a bit of time to get used to it. While Seungmin left for his work after dropping my things off, I busied myself with tinkering with it. Thankfully, it didn't take long to transfer all my things from my old phone to my new phone because I barely had anything to transfer anyway.

I even thought about purposely forgetting to transfer Cheongryeo's contact, but I didn't want to start a feud with the industry's biggest star.

Suddenly, I felt something heavy on my back. I turned over and saw Seungmin with his head against my spine. I don't know what time he came back to still be in deep sleep at 11 am.

"Well, I also just woke up."

I slipped out of bed, checking again to make sure I didn't wake the boy up. He remained still as I stretched and walked down the stairs. It was all very familiar, even when it had been months since I was last there. I poured myself some water and sat at the kitchen counter, admiring the view outside the two-billion-dollar penthouse.

I decided to check out Testar's SNS. It seemed the others had already posted about their vacations. And in particular, Keun Sejin was overflowing with birthday content, releasing all kinds of photos and videos of his gifts.

"So he was there yesterday to probably take a proof shot of his birthday presents..."

I felt a sort of guilt for not giving him a gift or wishing him a good birthday. I would have to offer to take his pictures and buy him some chicken sometime.

A realization came to me at that moment. There were some pills set out on the table as well as a note that said, "Eat this when you wake up."

It seemed that Seungmin left this the night before.

"I do feel better after he called the doctor for me."

I would have to thank him seriously when he wakes up--for the doctor, letting me stay over break, and for the phone.

"Oh...he's very nonchalant about it, but I owe him many things now..."

As the older one, I felt a bit embarrassed.

But I couldn't dwell more on the thought because Seungmin woke up, draping himself against the railing of the second floor overlooking the rest of the penthouse.

"Good morning," he murmured.

His voice was gruff, having just woken up.

"Good morning," I said back. "Do you want me to heat the kettle?"

I remember doing it a lot the last time I was here, so the question came out naturally.

He nodded his head, and his bed hair bounced back and forth. He then slid off the railing and went into the bathroom. After a while, he came down and put his chin on my shoulder.
