"Miss Marsh, you're suspended for a week."

"Are you shitting me?" Bev exclaimed, staring at the principal.

"Language!"

"This is stupid. I was standing up for my friends."

"I don't have any proof of your attack being self defense or defense of anyone else. We saw the footage." The principal folded his hands on his desk.

"This is bullshit."

"Do you want to make that two weeks, Beverly?"

"Fuck off."

"Okay, two weeks suspension it is."

"Whatever."

"Your aunt is on her way to pick you up, go pack your things."

Beverly sighed and got up, leaving the office. The losers were outside waiting.

"Well gentlemen, I'm suspended for two weeks."

"Two weeks?" Stanley repeated.

"Yup. It's so stupid." Beverly replied.

"Thanks for doing that, you didn't have to." Eddie said. Bev smiled, "I was sick of what he was saying."

"Speaking of." Bill started, "None of us knew that y-you two were o-officially dating."

"Yeah, I still wasn't completely sure when I punched bowers." Bev admitted.

"Yeah- its uh, new." Richie replied and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Eddie nodded and smiled a little, "Well, we knew how Bowers would react, so we weren't really telling people, but I guess it's out there now. I mean, there's no point in lying about it."

"Well, congratulations." Ben smiled.

-

"That's bullshit, Iron man has the most power over all of them."

"Eds, you're just saying that because he's your favorite. Spiderman is my favorite and I don't think he could beat captain America."

Richie and Eddie were in Richies bedroom, arguing about superheroes. They'd been at it for almost an hour.

"You just want to argue with me."

"Maybe a little. You're cute when you're angry." Richie smiled and pinched Eddies cheek.

Eddie scoffed, "Don't do that."

"Fine." Richie responded and kissed his cheek instead.

Eddie hummed in response, "Better."

The boys suddenly heard a voice coming from downstairs.

"Stop fucking following me!"

It was Maggie. Richie sighed, knowing his mother was probably drunk. Eddie didn't know this side of him, that's why he preferred being at Eddies house. He wasn't sure how to explain any of it to Eddie, but he was nervous that Eddie would find out just then.

"Seriously? Fuck you Wentworth!" Maggies voice was loud, they couldn't heard what Wentworth was saying.

Eddie looked startled, Richie wished they never came to his house.

"It's okay, eds. My moms just drunk. I'm sorry." Richie tried to explain.

"Is she okay? Did your dad do something?" Eddie asked, nervous and curious.

"No, no my dad didn't do anything. He probably just told her to stop drinking."

"I didn't know she drank like that- I don't think I've ever even talked to her." Eddie said.

"Yeah, I don't really talk about it." Richie cleared his voice. He was about to suggest they do something, maybe even get out of the house, but then glass was being shattered. Both boys jumped a little, and even Richie started to get a little nervous.

He go up and went to the top of the stairs, Eddie followed him. He walked down a little farther and peeked into the kitchen. The broken glass was on the floor and Wentworth was holding back Maggie while she was crying.

"Im leaving! I'm fucking leaving!" She started to yell and got out of her husbands grip. "You can live all alone with that fucking train wreck you call your son. I hate you both!" She started packing her bags aggressively.

Eddie felt like his heart had shattered. He had no idea Richies mom was like that. That she thought of her own son like that. What hurt even more is that Richie seemed to be used to it.

Maggie reappeared in the kitchen with her bags and looked at Wentworth, expecting him to say something. So he did.

"You wanna leave? Then fucking leave. You're being crazy." Maggie scoffed and he continued, "Come back when you decide to be a halfway decent mother and treat your only child with some goddamn resect. I'm sick of you drinking, I'm sick of you hitting him. I'm so fucking tired of it all. I'm done. Good fucking Riddance."

With that, she stormed outside with her things. Richie bolted back up the stairs, grabbing Eddies hand and dragging him into his room. He shut the door and sat on his bed, staring at the floor.

The truth is, it had never gotten that bad. Maggie had never left, Wentworth had never stood up to her. Richie was scared of what would happen to his mom now. He also felt a little relieved. He also felt incredibly sorry that Eddie had to hear that. That that's how Eddie found out about his relationship with his mother.

He didn't know what to do, he felt overwhelmed and scared, and so unloved. He put his face in his hands and just started to cry. He never cried in front of anybody, actually he never cried that often to begin with. But this time his body was reacting and it couldn't stop. Within seconds he was sobbing uncontrollably.

Eddie rushed to Richies side and put his arm around him, "Hey, hey it's okay. I'm here."

He wasn't too sure how to help Richie, or what to do. He took a chance, not knowing if Richie even felt like being touched. Luckily it worked, because Richie turned and threw his arms around Eddie, now crying into his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry Richie. Im so so sorry." Eddie whispered and rubbed his back soothingly.

Eddie held Richie in his arms for the rest of the night. Even when Wentworth came in to apologize, and to tell Richie that his mother was being sent to the mental hospital. He offered to take Eddie home, mortified that his sons friend had to just see that. Eddie shook his head, there was no way he was leaving Richies side.
