String lights glowing bright, garlands sparkling, and ornaments painting the tall green tree a rainbow of colors. Candy canes, icicle, and snowflake ornaments sprinkled the entire tree, shining brightly in the light, unable to be missed. Y/n, sitting on an ottoman placed by the fireplace, dug through an emptying box, looking for another unique flourish for the tree. Techno flipped through a book he found, easily distracted. Despite not having help, Y/n didn't mind being left to decorate the tree all by their self; it's nice to have all control over a project, you know?

Placing another candy cane on an empty branch, Y/n stood up and stretched. They reached back into the box and pulled out a singular stocking. Spinning it around, Y/n frowned, disappointingly staring at the lonely "sock". Nonetheless, they hung it on a hook attached to the fireplace. Satisfied with its placement, Y/n pulled out a few more ornaments to hang on the tree.

The living room stayed silent for a while; there was no need to speak. Techno was reading, Ranboo was sleeping, and Y/n was having the time of their life. The occasional snores from Ranboo, Techno's page flipping, or humming from Y/n would sometimes break the thick silence, but nothing too loud or obnoxious.

The tree's lights reflected on the glass of the nearby window, showcasing the evening sky to the living room. The sun sat behind a mountain, and small stars could just barely be seen. As the sun continued to descend, the temperature did too. Y/n never understood how certain animals could live in that environment. They loved winter, but being surrounded by it 24-7? It would've been too much.

Soon, gingerbready goodness filled the air, spreading delight throughout the room. Techno inhaled, deeply, craving a yummy cookie. The sweet scent soothed the noses of Techno and Y/n as the two shared glances, excitingly. Y/n took a deep inhale and looked into the kitchen.

"I completely forgot about the cookies," They whispered.

"Well, they're almost done, don't worry," Techno reassured, smiling warmly. Y/n smiled back, happily.

They kneeled down and spotted the last three ornaments in the box. One was a wooden sphere, painted to look like an ender pearl. The second was a cat head made of clay and paint. And the third was a photo frame. It held a heartwarming picture of three people, presumably three friends. Immediately, Y/n recognized the figure in the middle; it was Ranboo! But Y/n couldn't place the other two. Were the other two people Ranboo had yet to tell Techno and Y/n about?

Or maybe. Y/n thought. Techno already knows. They were curious, but they shrugged it off and carefully place the frame upon the tree. Now that the box was empty, they stepped back and admired their work.

"Tech!" They called, getting Techno's attention, "Do you like?" They asked, curious. Techno stared, his jaw agape.

"Why, it's beautiful, Y/n!" Techno complimented, astonished. Y/n smiled and blushed from Techno's kind words.

"Thanks.." They whispered.

They looked up at the tree, and down at Ranboo. They wondered if he would like it, taking into consideration the many ornaments Ranboo seemed to have made. While Ranboo wasn't the most bias person, seeing trinkets that held memories would surely make them happy. Y/n really wanted to hear Ranboo's opinion, but they wouldn't dare to shake him awake.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

"The heck?!" Ranboo shrieked, jolting up right. Well, at least Y/n wasn't the one to wake them up. Then, Ranboo was hit with sweet and gingery smell coming from the kitchen.

"Oh, the cookies!" Y/n said, remembering that they now had snacks to eat.

"I'll get them," Techno declared, standing up. Y/n nodded and looked back at the tree.
