January 2015
EXO has seen great major success with their EP Overdose. The songs top over any other song that year and broke records previously held by their seniors. Lee Sooman created EXO-K and EXO-M were created with the intention of expanding to the Chinese market. While the two subunits have experienced great success, they had a setback with the departure of Luhan.
In the wake of multiple scrutiny within SM, Sooman had to alter plans for them. They were now his main priority and with Super Junior and TVXQ continuing their enlistment, it was time for EXO to step against the likes of BTS, Got7, Winner, and more new rookie groups.
SNSD was going to return with a slight change due to Jessica's absence. He was going to push them one final time so he can focus developing Red Velvet. Shinee and F(x) were expected to return although without Sulli since she moved her separate ways.
It was time to scrap EXO-K and EXO-M and unify them into one group. Of course the Chinese market was still an option, but Sooman needed to expand overseas to grow them as a group. He subsequently relinquished the rights to Spexial towards a Taiwanese agency.
Manager Haoyang resigned from his position and left towards China. Manager Guo and Hsu remained with the agency and Hsu became Hsingche's personal manager. Speaking of Eric Chou, the boy managed to surprise him with how much profit he gained from his debut album. By now his debut song it was almost 100 million views. Truly Eric lit some kind of spark among the people.
Rambling aside... EXO's future was looking bright for 2015. He just hoped there would no more hiccup going forward...
