"Joie, why aren't you preparing? We'll be leaving at 6" Joie's Mother said

"Why, mother?" Joie replied

"We'll be attending a banquet. It's for businessmen and businesswomen"

"Then what does it have to do with me? I don't even know business at all and I'm lazy to go"

"You must come. There's a lot of young and single men tonight. We could find you a great match"

Joie looked at her mother and thought about it. If she end up making friends-a lot of rich men, she could also have a lot of choices. Even though she likes Kai, she thinks that it's better to have an option. If Kai did not like her in the end, she can choose one of the rich men she made friends with.

"Okay mother, I'll go and prepare myself!" She replied before leaving.

L. Manoban Entertainment

"President, about the invitation for the banquet tonight. Should we notify them that you're not attending?" Bambam said

"Who told you I'm not going?" Lisa looked at Bambam

"Sorry President"

"Did you have the information I asked you yesterday?"

"Yes President" Bambam give him a folder

Lisa received the folder and scanned the information. Her eyes turn colder.

"I want you to release this information. Tell the media to maintain the headline. If anyone dares to pay them to remove it, offer them huge amount of money" Lisa said to Bambam

"Copy President" said and leave

After Bambam left, Lisa's phone rang. He saw the screen and his eyes got softer.

"What are you doing? I miss you, hon"
Jennie on the other end said

Lisa smiled and said "Finishing documents. I'll be attending a banquet tonight. How's your day?"

"Oh, did I disturbed you? Anyways, my shoot just ended so I thought I should call you. I'm tired and I'm missing you every second you're not by my side" Jennie said with longing in her eyes

Lisa was feeling it too. "You're about to come back home, I know you're doing great. Don't tire yourself too much I wasn't there to take care of you "

Jennie laugh and said "I'm not a child. I can take care of myself, hon. You should take good care of yourself instead. I want you when I come back"

Lisa's eyes darkened and the longing and desire appears in his eyes. They talked for a few moments before ending the call. Lisa left the company before the banquet starts.

At the banquet

Inside the hall, there are a lot of businessmen and women. And also people who has a great standing in the business world. Some of these people did not come from business industry but because of their names and influence, they were invited to join.

"Wow this is wonderful!" Joie who just entered the hall with her mother cannot deny the excitement in her voice

"Yes, darling. I just hope we found you a better man to marry!" Joie's Mother replied

They shifted their eyes to scan different people scattered inside the hall.

"Mother we should start greeting them. I think it's better to make the first move. Anyways,  does Auntie will attend this banquet?"

"I don't know. And yes, we should greet them. This is the best opportunity don't waste it"

The mother and daughter started to walk and greet different businessmen. While they're conversing into the conversation, there's a commotion.

"I heard that President Manoban will attend tonight"

"Oh yeah I heard it too. That's why I brought my daughters tonight."

"I brought my daughter too to take the opportunity and meet President Manoban. This is the first time I will meet him because he don't like attending a banquet"

The mother and daughter who heard the commotion near them were stunned for a moment. And then they glanced at each other. Another commotion erupted

"Oh is that President Manoban?"

"Oh my god! He's so handsome! I wish he will notice me!"

Joie and her mother turn to the entrance and there.... They saw a man with a king like presence walking toward their direction. Joie's heart started to race and she glance at her mother and said "Is he walking in our direction, mother?"

"I think so too"

Joie started to blushed and she look at the girls who were lovestruck by the presence of Lisa. She looks proud and sneered to them. The girls gets irritated by her action.

"Greet her when he's near. Remember, don't let this past, darling. You will be the Mistress of the Manoban Family" Joie's Mother started to remind her

"Yes, mother. I'll show these bitches that I'm the one for him!"

"He's near, go and do what you need to do"

Joie who's absolutely in lovestruck think of a way to greet Lisa and to get his attention. She needs to get him interested to her.

When Lisa is three steps from her, she started to blushed harder and smile shyly and said "Presi..."

Before she greets Lisa, he walked pass her so she could only stop and swallow the words she was about to say. The girls inside the hall cannot hide the ridicule in their eyes them started to laugh.

Joie and her mother on the other froze and their faces got red in anger and embarrassment. One of the girls said "She looked at us awhile ago like she won a lifetime grand prize."

The other girl agreed and said "Yes, she looked so proud and arrogant. But look, President Manoban did not even bother to spent her glance. How pitiful!" then the girls laugh erupted

Joie and her mother fuming in rage and walked out. When they reach a safe distance from the crowd Joie's mother said

"What happened back there, Joie?!"

"I...I don't know! I thought he was walking to me because I swear, I saw him glanced at me, mother! I'm not mistaken!" Joie nervously said

"I told you, this is our chance! Don't ruin it! You should fix this! We couldn't let this pass! You hear me?! We should fix this if you want to have a better future!"

"Yes Mother, let's make a way"
