Silent scars

I don't know when I lost all love
Innocence and happiness, now distant shores
Each passing year I learn to hate more
I wanna love yet too broke to afford
I seek kindness in every gaze I meet
Futile search and hope dismissed.

I swear I try to mend my scars
But the cuts are too deep, they never heal
I swear I try to shut the voices inside my head
But they need a release being shut down like this.
