CHAPTER THIRTY THREE
Like Family
┄﹒AKI STOOD, DRESSED MORE DIFFERENTLY THAN USUAL, LOOKING DOWN AT THE THREE DOWN ON THE WOODEN FLOOR. "I'm going back home to Hokkaido tomorrow. I'll be gone for about two days. I'll cook some meals before I go. Just heat them up in the microwave."He assumed that it would go smoothly; the trio agreeing to separate from himself for a few mere days.
"Wait, you get to go to Hokkaido?! No fair! I wanna go!" Denji first cried out, ruining Aki's assumption.
"I wanna go!" Then came Power, basically copying the blond boy.
Aki's eyes glanced over at the other girl leaning against Denji, her gray colored hues meeting his with a small smile spread across her lips. A small shrug following after.
"I'm only visiting a grave. It's not for fun." He tried to argue back, attempting to change their thoughts on wanting to go.
"It would be nice for us all to get out..." Erity suggested, her eyes looking away from Aki with a shrug of her shoulders. "Just an idea!"
"Exactly!" Denji exclaimed, jolting forward which resulted in the girl being pulled along. "Our trip got cancelled, so I wanna go somewhere! Plus Powy's calmed down compared to before."
The blood fiend nodded her head as the boy spoke, "I've calmed down." She agreed.
"Who's going to take care of Meowy while no one's home?" Aki attempted to argue with the trio, gesturing towards the cat that rested in Denji's lap.
Erity opened her mouth and looked up at the older teenager, an idea sparking in her mind.
"Thanks for agreeing to take the cat." The dark haired teenager thanked the older man who held the cage under his armpit.
"Whatcha want as a souvenir?"
"Alcohol." Kishibe responded without hesitation, his words dripping with monotone but certainty.
The trip to Hokkaido began soon after the trio left the cat with Kishibe. The group found themselves on a bullet train at first— Denji had forced Power to sit next to Aki instead of Erity; wanting the girl to be at his side during the duration of the ride.
The blood fiend had tried to fight against Denji, but she eventually lost and sat next to the older boy with an upset expression.
"You really didn't have to shove her up there," Erity said to the blond in a hushed tone, gesturing to the girl sitting ahead of them. A small smile on her lips. "I could've sat with Aki."
