Vera sat at the dinner table. Her mother was gushing about some new charity dinner that she had attended, excited that Vera's father was home for dinner for once.

"...and of course Cassandra Greengrass made the dress code blue to match her eyes. Selfish, don't you think?" Alma continued, cutting up her food neatly.

"Actually, I think blue is your color Als. You should use it to your advantage." Cassius responded, gesturing towards her with his fork. "Veve, darling, what do you think?"

"I agree." Vera said semi-dryly. "Navy blue, especially."

Alma mulled it over while Cassius switched the conversation topic, noticing that his daughter was bored. "Any summer plans with your friends?"

Vera thought about whether to ask yet or not while they were still in a good mood. Suddenly an idea struck her and she had to ask immediately. "Well, there's this thing."

"Go on," Cassius urged while Alma started to get intrigued.

"It's this charity thing in Italy. It would be really good if I could go for a few weeks in the summer." Technically she wasn't lying. She had seen this charity event in Italy months ago but had never inquired, thinking her parents would never let her go.

"Italy's a bit far." Cassius said thoughtfully.

"We can't send you alone." Alma said immediately. "Think rationally." Even though it was underlying, Alma truly didn't want anything to happen to her daughter.

"Yeah, but the charity event is a few miles away from where Theo is staying with his family." Vera was cautious when speaking. "I know it sounds off but they said they would be happy to give me a room. A seperate room." She emphasized, watching carefully for their reactions. "It's a charitable organization for those who are struggling from the first Wizarding War. If I go to Italy, I could become a member." These were mostly truths.

"I don't know Cassius." Alma said, her eyebrows scrunched up.

"Hold on Als. It could be great for her career." Cassius paused, nodding his head.

"Well, Daddy, you know what happens after that. First I become a member, and then a board member, and soon I'm working my way to the top." Vera answered, nodding her head. "Mother, you're the one who always says that all those charity galas you do are important."

"Listen, I don't know why you think you'll be allowed to gallivant all over Europe." Alma chuckled dryly. "Tell her Cassius."

He didn't respond.

"Daddy?" Vera asked, putting her fork down and crossing her arms.

"She's almost of age. And also, I think this could be very beneficial for her." Cassius started, noticing how his daughter's expression brightened. "I want to let her go to Italy."

Vera squealed, a grin taking over her face. "Thank you, thank you, I promise you won't regret it."

"What?" Alma spluttered, widening her eyes. "Cass. Are you sure?"
