── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──Vera cracked the door to her boyfriend's dorm slowly, peeking in to see if anyone was inside. She had just finished chatting with Enzo and Mattheo after the game, so his roommates were still at the pitch. Blaise was most likely with them, or drinking his sorrows away after that horrifying loss. And, now that Vera thought about it, Mattheo was most likely tailing him.
Draco was probably trying to slaughter Charles with his gaze. Apparently, he was no longer interested in the sport that he had adored since he was five years old and eagerly showing a younger Vera how fast his newest racing broom could go.
She found Theodore standing at the dresser, his hands grasping the edge so tight that his knuckles were beginning to turn white. He regarded himself in the mirror before screwing his eyes shut. "Fuck!" He yelled in frustration, practically ripping his jersey off of his body, unable to look at the emerald green and silver glimmering back at him in the mirror.
Vera frowned, thinking back to how hard her boyfriend had worked. He had been to all of the optional practices, the early morning training and conditioning, and practiced late at night when no one else was using the pitch.
A memory flooded Vera's brain as she looked at Theo.
"Can you believe Snape assigned us another Defense Essay? That's the second one this week." Vera groaned, her usually pristine handwriting turning messier by each word.
"At least we're almost done." Theo smiled, polishing off the conclusion of his essay. As Vera followed his lead, she flipped open her Magical Law textbooks and began taking down more notes. The subject interested her incredibly, and it seemed to be the only homework that she didn't fully dread.
Theo kissed her forehead as he got up, and Vera furrowed her brows. "Are you going to sleep in your dorm, Teddy?"
He exhaled softly. "I was actually going to get in some more practice. Run some drills, you know?"
"It's really late." The girl said, staring up at him with huge eyes.
Theo cracked a grin. "Exactly. No one will be there."
"Okay." Vera gave in, smiling at him. "Goodnight." She blew him a kiss.
He pretended to catch it, placing it on his heart. "Goodnight, darling. Go to bed soon, okay?"
Vera shook her head, quickly snapping back to reality, approaching Theo. He was in just his gray Quidditch trousers and a black thermal compression shirt. All of his protective gear was currently laying on a small pile on the floor and his jersey was right beside it. He roughly ran a hand through his hair, which was curling past the nape of his neck now. He closed his eyes again and was breathing deeply.
She wrapped his arms around his waist from behind and his eyes snapped open in surprise, alert and wide before recognizing her and softened instantly. He turned around to hug her fully. "Hello, Veve." He said quietly, not acting like himself. Vera grabbed his arm, pulling him to sit down on his bed beside her.
"It's okay to be upset, baby." Vera whispered to him. "I know how hard you worked." She scanned his smooth skin dotted with beauty marks and a few freckles, tracing her fingertip gently over his cheekbone.
He shook his head in frustration. "I fucking let the team down. I don't know what to do. I don't know why I even bother. I work so hard and I never see any fucking results." He said, outlines of angry tears shining in his waterline.
