The picture is the wand Claire gets.
Cedric and I are sitting at a table eating ice cream. I have mint chocolate chip and he has birthday cake ice cream. We've gotten most of our supplies. All I have left is to get my wand.
"Why did you buy all of the stuff for me?" I ask him.
"Because I thought that..."
"I don't need charity."
"That's not what I was thinking Claire."
"I go by C."
"Why?"
"Saying in C separates me from my parents."
He nods his head and we finish our ice cream. We get up and head to Olivanders. According to Cedric, it is the best place to get wands. And I trust him with my life.
"I have to get something," he says and walks off. I enter the shop by myself. The place is piled high with rectangular boxes.
"Hello," I call. An older man jumps out.
"Ahh," he says. "I'm glad you are here Ms.Smith."
"You know me?"
"Yes. I remember your parents."
He starts looking through the boxes.
"It's a shame," he says. "Your parents had to go down that path. At least you are not like them. You go by C, right?"
"Yes sir."
He pulls out a box and hands it to me. I open it and pull out a wand. I give it a swish and gold sparks shoots out.
"That's what I thought," he says. "12.5" Yew with a Dragon Heartstring center. Free of charge."
"I didn't ask."
"Yes, but I've been asked so much, I just say it now. All my wands are free."
I thank him and head outside. Cedric is leaning against the wall, talking with a girl that has black hair and brown eyes. He notices me and waves me over.
"Hi," I say.
"Hey C," Cedric says. "This is my friend Cho."
"Hi," she says. "Is this your first year?"
I nod my head.
"This is my second."
"Cool."
"Nice necklace."
I look to see I have the necklace Cedric gave me.
"It was a birthday gift," I inform her.
"From the number one guy in the world," he brags. Cho and I both play punch him in the arms.
"Geez," he freaks. "Why am I the one that's get teamed up on?"
We laugh and head to The Leaky Cauldron.
