We get off the train. A very tall man with messy, brown hair and beard is calling over the first years.
"I'll see you back inside," Cedric says. I wave and head to the group of first years. We get into to some boats the row themselves. A castle gets closer and closer. We finally pull up and we all get out. We are lead in front of a set of grand doors. A woman comes. She has brown hair with a few grey steaks in it and bright blue eyes.
"In a moment," she says, "you will walk through the doors and be sorted into your houses. Which are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff."
We walk around the group and start talking. I spot a guy with messy jet black hair and emerald green eyes. He is with a boy that is a red head with green eyes. I walk over.
"Hi," I say. "I'm C."
"As in the letter?" The ginger asks.
"You can't talk to girls well, can you?"
"I'm Ron."
"I'm Harry."
I nod my head and then realize who he is.
"Aren't you Harry Potter?" I ask. He nods his head and lifts his hair to show the lightning scar.
"Wow," I say.
"So it's true."
I turn to see a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Harry Potter is here," he says. "I'm Draco Malfoy."
Ron snickers a bit.
"Do you think my name is funny?" Draco asks. Ron shakes his head. "No need to ask yours. Red hair. Freckles. And hand-me-down robes. Clearly a Weasley. You should choose your friends more carefully Potter."
"I think I have," Harry replies. Draco rolls his eyes and walks off. The three of us laugh until the woman comes back.
"They're ready," she says as we enter. There are four long tables full of students. We walk down the middle. I walk right past Cedric and he shouts C. We wave at each other and I feel my face turn a couple shades redder. I look away and stop at the stage. We go up one at a time to be sorted.
"Claire Elisa Smith."
I walk up and sit on the stool. The hat is place on my head.
"What to do? What to do?" It sings in my ear. "Intelligent and loyal. Brave and cunning. Where to go? Where to go?"
"Not Slytherin," I whisper. I do not, repeat, do not want to be in the same house as Draco.
"Then, HUFFLEPUFF."
Cheering erupts from the table as I get up. I head over and sit next to Cedric.
"Glad you could join me C," he says.
"Glad I could too."
