Cedric and I sneak out towards the pavilion.
"So what do you want to do?" He asks. I shrug my shoulders.
"How about showing me the lake?" I offer. He smiles and pulls me along. I just go along with this. We arrive at the lake. It's quite pretty. We sit on some tree roots and just stare at it.
"I'm kind of glad I met you," I finally say, breaking the silence.
"Kind of?" He laughs. "I think more than kind of. I did help pay for all of your stuff and kept your father away."
"Oh yeah," I joke around. "You did."
He just laughs and leans his head against the tree.
"Halloween is next week," he states.
"And?" I ask.
"I think this will be great."
"And why's that?"
"Just that I know for sure I have a true friend now."
I start to blush at the fact he called me his friend. What is wrong with me? I just shrug it off. He stands up and pick up a stone. He skips it across the lake. I smirk as he picks up another.
"You want to try?" He asks.
"I've never done that before," I inform him. He pulls me up and gives me the stone. He goes behind me and grabs my arm. Slowly showing me how to throw it.
"Now you try," he says as he lets go of my arm. I do as he showed me. The rock skips a couple times before stopping.
"Yes," I scream in joy as I throw my arms in the air. Cedric laughs and congratulates me. We start laughing and sit back down. A car with dusty colored fur walks up to us. Cedric spots her and jumps up.
"We need to go," he says as he pulls me up.
"Why?" I ask.
"So you don't get in trouble," I hear someone say. I turn to see Mr.Filch. He is one of the grounds keep, and this dude looks like the cat.
"You two have detention now," he laughs. "You both can spend an hour cleaning trophies."
We complain the entire time on the way to the trophy room. Filch leaves us alone with the cleaning supplies. I get to work and so does Cedric.
"Sorry for getting you into trouble," he mutters.
"I don't care," I inform him. "I had a good time while it lasted."
I pick up a plaque for Quidditch. It is to Gryffindor. What catches my attention is that James Potter's name is for the Captain and a Chaser. This is something Harry should see. I can it and put it back down.
