Chapter Thirteen

I open my eyes, but quickly close them from the bright lights. I open my eyes and blink a few times do my eyes adjust. I sit up and realize I'm in the Hospital Wing. Cedric is sitting on the chair by me.

"Hey C," he practically whispers.

"Hey. What happened?"

"You've been out a couple days. Dumbledore and Snape found you knocked out with Harry. That's all I was told. What else happened?"

"I remember Quill was there after something. And when I got there with Harry, I got hit and fell."

"I think you should be released soon."

I nod my head and he gets up. He starts to leave.

"Cedric," I call. He turns around. "I'm sorry for running after you kissed me."

"It's okay. Maybe we shouldn't talk about it."

My heart drops when those words leave his mouth. He leaves the Wing and I look out the window. One of the people come and tells me I can leave. I get up and change in the back room to my school robes.

I follow the other students to the Great Hall for the final meal. People are talking, but I'm just zoned out. Dumbledore makes an announcement then pronounce that Gryffindor won this year's house cup.

I look at Cedric and can see he is looking at me. He looks away and I do the same. After the meal, we hop on the train to go home. I see Cedric go sit with Cho and I go sit by myself.

I knew I should have kept away from people in the back of my mind. Lesson learned. I look out the window and watch the scenery go by.
