HER EYES WIDENED in surprise, her e/c irises sparkling with disbelief and delight. the renowned itoshi sae, the epitome of brilliance and grace, stood before her, extending a bouquet of exquisite flowers.

"what? no. those are for mom."

a sense of confusion and embarrassment washing over her. she had mistakenly assumed that the flowers were a gesture of affection, a token of reconciliation after their recent disagreement.

"i only handed it to you so you can put it somewhere else."

he sighed, "you assume so quickly," a light chuckle escaping his lips as he found her innocent assumption endearing.

how could she not assume? he literally just straight up gave the bouquet to her without saying anything.

"how should i know, dickwad." her flustered state soon gave way to a scowl that accentuated her delicate features.

she couldn't help but grumble under her breath, silently lamenting that every encounter with him seemed to leave her frayed and irritated.

the young prodigy, with a nonchalant gesture of his hand, excused himself and proceeded towards his mother.

itoshi sae greeted his mother with a warm smile and a gentle touch. he then settled onto a stool beside the bed, his presence bringing a sense of calm to the otherwise quiet room.

as he positioned himself, the girl, following closely behind, politely excused herself, indicating her intention to leave.

"aw n/n, i wanted us to have more girl talk," mrs. itoshi said as she smiled sadly at the girl.

"as much as i want to, auntie, but i think you and sae should have an alone time since he's your son."

"ok ok fine, and call me mom from now on."

"will do, mom," with a playful flick of her tongue, she cast a mischievous glance at sae, who remained stoic, his expression betraying a hint of disappointment because his very own mother preferred the girl over him.

as the girl departed, mrs. itoshi enveloped the boy in a warm, affectionate embrace, a gesture that he reciprocated wholeheartedly.

"oh how i missed you, my little boy." his mother remarked, gently releasing him from the embrace.

"mom, you just saw me yesterday."

"oh, hush!" his mother playfully exclaimed, her eyebrows dancing mischievously. "so, what do you think of her?"

"mom, you sound like a fucking highschool girl."
