"HI MOMMY! YOU'RE BACK!"
"MOMMYYYYYY !!"
two decades had slipped by since the life-altering surgery.
l/n y/n, now known as itoshi y/n, thrived alongside their rambunctious twins, kei and mei, both energetic five-year-olds.
the retired football players – bachira, isagi, and nagi – held down the fort today (as babysitters), their boisterous laughter echoing through the house.
life had settled into a comfortable rhythm, a testament to the successful surgery that had hung in the balance all those years ago.
thankfully, the heavens had smiled, and y/n's recovery had been a resounding success.
suddenly, a high-pitched squeal shattered the afternoon calm.
"mom! mom! uncle megu won't give my ipad back!" kei shrieked, pointing a finger accusingly at bachira meguru, who was engrossed in a game on the ipad.
"hey! i was just checking if there's something wrong with your ipad!" bachira, or "uncle megu" as he was known to the twins, retorted back at the boy with a playful grunt.
y/n sighed, a smile tugging at her lips. there was a certain resemblance between kei and bachira, both radiating an energy that often translated into joyous chaos.
she excused herself and crossed the room to find mei engaged in a tea party with uncle chi and uncle sei.
"look, mom! i made you tea after your tiring day at work!" mei chirped, holding up a teacup filled with nothing more than water.
y/n chuckled, her heart melting at the sweet gesture. even a water-filled teacup held the essence of childhood innocence, a stark contrast to the trials they'd faced years ago.
"how's work, y/n?" isagi yoichi, known as "uncle chi" to the twins, inquired, holding a teacup aloft to maintain the charade of their tea party.
"tiring, of course," y/n replied, taking a sip from the water-filled cup mei offered. "but manageable."
"is the tea good, mommy?" mei asked, her eyes sparkling with pride.
"the best, sweetheart," y/n replied with a laugh.
suddenly, nagi spoke in a curiously subdued tone. "so ... are you living the life you always envisioned?"
y/n's smile remained radiant. "absolutely! i love my life right now – especially my husband!"
nagi, a flicker of unease crossing his features, seemed on the verge of another question, but the doorbell's insistent chime cut him off.
"he must be home! excuse me, i'll get it," y/n declared, rising from the impromptu tea party.
the door swung open, revealing y/n's husband, the father of the twins, itoshi rin.
"honey, you're home early," y/n greeted, ushering him inside and helping him out of his coat.
"finished work a little early today," rin explained, planting a quick kiss on her cheek. "how were the little ones?"
"lively as ever," y/n chuckled. "they had the best babysitters, of course!"
with that, she headed to the kitchen to begin dinner preparations.
"DADDY!" A joyous shout erupted from the living room.
a chorus of "we missed you so much!" erupted as kei and mei launched themselves at rin's legs, their small arms wrapping around him tightly.
"missed you both too, my little troublemakers," rin replied, crouching down to pat their backs and bestow a kiss on each forehead.
