William's P.O.V
After an uneventful day in highschool I sat on the bus on my way back home, the sun already on its way to setting behind the vast ocean. It was around the end of the year with only one more week to go, though I didn't plan to stay for the majority of them has the majority of the teachers didn't bother marking attendance, and while I didn't excel in any particular subject, I certainly never scraped by. I could afford missing classes.
It did not help the fact that I knew I wasn't really 'learning' anything as I was memorizing, regurgitating and then forgetting. I already had a good idea of what I would do in my future and the majority of the subjects taught just weren't it. Oh well, at least the day was over.
After a quiet ride back home, like usual, I make a short walk to the gates of my home, opening them with familiarity and closing them just as easily. After entering my house and greeting my parents, I leave my backpack in an empty chair nearby after a short questioning of how my day was. I appreciate that they care enough to ask but at the same time, I feel that after 2 months of things being 'fine' they ought to realize that nothing ever changes. Still, I know that it's unreasonable for me to say that so I just bear with it.
Going into my room I read some stories while listening to music on YouTube in the background, and after that I play some Fallout 3 since the only homework I have, a presentation for biology, I've already completed a week in advance. I've already completed Fallout New Vegas and while I plan to play it again with a different build, I'll finish Fallout 3 first.
After doing this for a while it's time to eat dinner, which I happily eat after thanking my mother. Shortly after finishing I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I then lay in bed with YouTube in the background, reading stories until exactly 00:00 which is around the time I go to bed. Saying goodnight to my parents, I turn off my computer, put my phone in my pocket and turn off all the lights.
After that I don't really go to sleep has much as I just... lay there, thinking. I really ought to learn how fortunate I am to have the life that I do, and to appreciate both it and the people that gave it to me. And don't get me wrong I do, just, maybe I should show it more often. Still, all this does is just make me feel worse when I think to myself that it's not enough.
It may sound arrogant, but I'm someone who really values their time, has it's a resource that once lost can never be returned, which is why I tend to take measures to save has much time has I can, sometimes to a fault. That's why the idea of wasting 2 years of my life, my youth, doing what essentially amounts to nothing is unacceptable.
And yet, as if to add salt upon wounds, I am forced to realize that I am powerless, any other alternative I can think of being way to inefficient or out of my way for me to follow, imprinting upon me the inevitability of my life's direction.
"Oh well, no need to be all gloom and doom. The next 2 years might suck but, you know what? Tomorrow was a weekend."
Has such, I turn to my side and finally close my tired eyes, resting in preparation for another day.
My very last rest on this Earth.

Third Person P.O.V
SDC Scientist 1: "Yup, just has I thought, impure..."
SDC Scientist 2: "Damn it! And just when we started mining."
These two scientist were looking at a sealed container which currently held a sample of yellow, or lightning, Dust. They worked for the Schnee Dust Company or SDC and it was their job to do anything that requires scientific skill, in this portfolio included the verification of Dust purity in order to determine if a mine should be invested in or not.
The standard procedure when discovering a new Dust mine was to first, scout the location and determine things like Grimm activity, what type they were, their general locations and so on. If it was determined that it was manageable, they would send in a small amount of guarded miners to take back a small amount of Dust, around one mine carts worth or so. Lastly, the science department checks the purity of the Dust gathered and determines whether the mine is worth investing in by the percentage of purity in the gathered Dust. If the batch was 65% pure then the mine would become fully operational.
But has it turned out, this mine happened to be a fluke. The Dust that they gathered afterwards had nowhere near the purity of the first batch, a measly 23%. Still, something like this wasn't unheard of, after all, the SDC had been operating for years now so it would be unusual if it didn't have bouts of misfortune.
SDC Scientist 1: "We ought to report this has soon has possible, lest they keep investing resources into this mine."
SDC Scientist 2: "Isn't that, like, standard procedure? Why are you even saying this?"
Annoyed at his fellow scientist, he replied:
SDC Scientist 1: "Well, I don't know, maybe It's because I wanna make conversation or something? Maybe I'm fucking BORED, or something?"
SDC Scientist 2: "Yeah, whatever."
After making their report, the department responsable for economic expenses determined that investing in the mine was a net loss, and so after 3 weeks of probing, the SDC decided to pack up and go, not even bothering to take back the impure Dust already in the mine carts. After all, the cost of transportation, protection against Grimm, and so on, was more than what they would obtain after selling the Dust.
And so the Courier who-
And so the freshly discovered mine was left to rot, abandoned, It's only occupants from now on being the underground Grimm that hadn't been rooted out of their nests, mining robots that had not been recovered, mindlessly toiling away at the nonexistent Dust on the cave walls, and the silent, ever-present atmosphere of a forgotten place of labor.
But little did the rest of Remnant know, that on this very day, at this very moment, the strongest warrior they would ever see was currently being transported.

In an area close to the dilapidated entrance, a strange distortion was occurring.
The area in a 5 meter radius became completely grayscale and black-and-white, the air bending and contorting like how high degree weathers look like in the far of distance. Wild energy danced around around has a figure slowly manifested inside the energy storm, the distortions becoming more and more prominent, yet somehow perfectly contained within the 5 meter radius, has if the happenings inside the monochromatic bubble where occurring in a completely different dimension.
After a few short minutes, the figure was fully formed, and laying on the cold floor of the abandoned cave was a young white-skinned teen with long black hair. Feeling the freezing cold on his back, the teen was quickly deprived of his sweet slumber.
William: "What in the hell is- COLD! COLDCOLDCO-"
