"Matt, marry me?" I knew what I had said, I meant what I said, I knew I did.
"What?" His jaw dropped.
"Yeah," I grinned.
He took a box out of his jacket pocket and just started laughing.
"Oh my god," I laughed, loudly.
"Ava, marry me?" He grinned.
I nodded viciously, and started crying, but was also laughing at the situation.
"Yeah," I laughed.
He kissed me, then took the ring out of the box. The original ring, the one I got four years ago, the one I had missed looking at every single day since I got it. The ring I fell in love with, and will fall in love with all over again. I kissed him again, and realized we had gotten that all on video and started grinning.
"I'm so glad that was all on video," I laughed.
"So am I," He kissed me again, and I couldn't stop smiling.
"We're going to actually get married this time, right?" I nudged him.
"That's what I'm planning on," He laughed.
We stopped the recording and then walked back to the house. I missed this walk, it was always so important to me, because it was the first time Matt and I actually hung out together without anyone. We arrived back at the house and Nate, Nick, and Chris were all awake, but Mary Lou, Jimmy, and Leah were still sleeping.
"Where the hell did you guys go?" Nick laughed.
"I left a note," I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Oh- I didn't see that," He laughed.
"I have a video to show you guys," Matt gave his phone to the three of them and we just sat on the couch.
"What is this? I don't wanna see you-" Chris started, then I heard myself ask Matt the question.
"Oh my g-" The three were in sync, then they saw Matt pull out the ring.
"WAS THIS PLANNED?" Nate gasped.
"No," I laughed.
"OH MY GOD!" Nick grinned and hugged me tightly.
"You're actually getting married this time though, right?" Nate laughed.
"Yea, we are," I laughed.
"I'm so happy for you guys, oh my god," Chris grinned.
"Why is everyone smiling?" Dahliah looked around the room.
"Well, Leah, you know how some kids, their mommies and daddies aren't together?" Matt picked her up and sat her in his lap.
"Yeah, like you and mommy!" She grinned at him.
"Well, not really anymore," He smiled at her, "Mommy and daddy are going to get married, do you know what that means?"
"YEA!" Her eyes lit up, "LIKE THOSE SHOWS MOMMY WATCHES WITH THE WEDDINGS!"
"Exactly," I laughed at our daughter, calling me out a little bit.
"Is mommy going to wear a white dress?" Leah's eyes were full of excitment.
"Yea, I am," I grinned at our daughter.
"What's going on?" Marylou came into the room.
"MOMMY AND DADDY ARE GETTING MARRIED!" Leah threw up her arms in excitement, and I saw tears starting to form in Marylou's eyes.
"Really?" She gave us both really big smiles.
"Yeah," I saw tears start to form in Matt's eyes, which caused me to start to cry.
"Oh my god," She grinned, and I got up hugging her tightly.
"No joke this time, right? We're actually going through with this?" She nudged me, causing me to let out a small laugh.
"Yeah, I am," I grinned, and she hugged me tightly again.
"I think you should go tell her," She rubbed my back and I nodded, my heart breaking a little bit.
"I need a little bit, I haven't seen her in four years, she doesn't even know Leah was born yet, I mean of course she knows but I haven't said anything," I started to ramble.
"Of course, go when you're ready, you need to give yourself time just as much," She smiled.
"Who?" Chris cocked an eyebrow.
"Her mom you dumbass," Nick smacked him and the look of realization from Chris made me laugh.
"Nick don't call your brother a dumbass, he's just, special," Marylou smiled, causing Chris' jaw to drop and me, Matt, and Nate to let out a big laugh.
"Don't think that's any better mom," Chris started to laugh, sitting back on the couch.
"Well, I'm going to make breakfast," She smiled, walking into the kitchen.
"CAN I HELP GRANDMA?" Leah jumped up off the couch following her.
"Of course you can!" She gave her granddaughter a wide grin.
I sat back down on the couch with Matt and he wrapped his arms around me.
"We're gonna get married," I smiled, looking at the ring, "For real this time."
"I know," He smiled, kissing the top of her head.
