Ava had taken Dahliah and gone to visited her brother and grandparents as a surprise since she had come to Boston with us. She was putting off going to see her mom's grave, which I understood, but also knew that she'd regret it if she didn't before we left. I was sitting at the island when my mom had walked into the kitchen, a smile on her face.

"I don't know how you managed to, but I'm glad she's back," She let out a small laugh, and I just sighed.

"Yeah I don't know how either," I took a drink out of my water cup, then looked at my mom, "I'm sorry- you know for like, being a major douchebag," I looked at her and she came over and hugged me.

"I will always love you, but that doesn't mean I won't call you out on your stupid mistakes," She let out a small laugh.

"Thank you," I smiled at her, then heard the front door open, hearing Leah's laughter fill the house.

A smile formed on my face, hearing my daughters laughter. She ran into the kitchen and grinned when she saw me.

"DADDY!" She jumped into my lap and hugged me tightly, me hugging her back just as tight.

"Shes been loud, so, hope you enjoyed your peace and quiet," Ava let out a laugh, causing me to smile at her, "What?"

"Nothing," I looked at her, admiring her features, then noticed the look on her face.

"You're being odd-" I let out a laugh and I rolled my eyes, "There we go, there's my Matt."

My heart slipped a beat her words, it was like I was falling in love with her all over again. Leah had gotten out of my lap, walking in the living room to play with her toys when I pulled Ava into a hug, my arms sitting around her waist.

"I love you," I mumbled into her neck and she let out a small laugh.

"I love you too," She replied, and I gently kissed her, "Are you good? You're acting more... romantic than usual."

"Would you rather me punch you?" I let out a small laugh.

"Yeah actually, that would feel normal," She let out a laugh and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm not gonna fuck you up," I let out a laugh and she smirked at me, causing me to know there was going to be an astonishing comment coming.

"I mean you've done it before, otherwise Leah wouldn't be here," She smirked and my eyes widened, then I let out a loud laugh.

"Pretty glad I did," I smirked and she kissed me, "I think you should go see your mom today."

"Maybe," Her whole demeter changed after I mentioned her mom.

"We leave in three days, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, then Christmas, you're going to run out of time."

"I know," She spoke softly, then looked in my eyes, "I'll go later."

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"No, I know when I get there I'll be there for at least two hours, I haven't seen her in four years," She gave me a weak smile and I tucked a piece of her hair behind my ear.

"You'll be glad when you do," I nodded, then stood up.

"Give me like an hour, then I'll go," She wrapped her arms around me gently.

I kissed the top of her head and hugged her back, noticing Nick came into the room.

"My god get a ROOM," He rolled his eyes with a laugh, "You already have a kid, you don't need another one."

I let out a laugh and so did Ava, then I watched her walk into the living room. Nick gave me a look and I just furrowed my eyebrows.

"What?"

"I don't know how you did it," He shrugged and I raised an eyebrow.

"Explain?"

"Would rather not, use context clues," He shrugged then walked into his room, shutting the door.

I just rolled my eyes and walked into the living room where Dahliah and Ava were, sitting next to my fiance. I watched my daughter play then noticed Ava's focus was on the TV, My Little Pony playing quietly.

"Are you watching My Little Pony?"

"Yea, what about it? This show fucks," She retorted, causing me to let out a laugh.

"It's a whole bunch of- you know what, whatever," I just laughed and she ignored me, paying attention to the TV, laughing every once and a while.

"Oh hell yeah, My Little Pony," Chris came in and sat on the couch, causing me to roll my eyes, "Leah who's your favorite."

"Pinkie Pie!" She grinned at Chris, a small smile forming on my face.

"Mine is Rainbow Dash," Chris nodded, "Ava what's yours?"

"Rarity, duh," She let out a laugh, then she turned to me.

"Don't ask me, I've never seen the show," I looked at her.

"Fucking lying ass bitch," Chris glared at me.

"Yeah you lying ass bitch," Dahliah repeated and Ava moved her hand over her mouth, trying not to laugh.

"Ah shit- Dahliah we don't say that-" Chris tried to get out without laughing.

"Why, you said it," She looked at him and I clearly my throat, a laugh almost escaping.

"Because, Chris is bad, that's why he said it, you don't say bad words because you're a good girl," I spoke to her and she nodded.

"Uncle Chris is gonna go to jail," She laughed and I let out a laugh, then looked at Ava who looked like she was on the verge of tears because of how hard she was trying not to laugh.

"Ava, breathe," I laughed loudly and she shook her head no, still trying not to laugh.

"I can't," She looked at me trying not to laugh then left the room, hearing a loud laugh from the kitchen, a grin forming on my face.

"Why is Mommy laughing so hard," Leah looked at me and I just laughed quietly.

"Because, my flower, you're very funny."

"I know, I get it from mommy," She grinned, then Ava came back into the room, a satisfactory look on her face.

"You hear that? I'm funnier than you," Ava grinned and I just rolled my eyes.

HELLO EVERYONE!!! Haven't seen any of you in about two months hope everyone is well. I wanna say I'll be more consistent but we all know that's a damn lie LMAO. If you are an Outer Banks fan though, I do have a duology series for Rafe Cameron, then a couple one book Rafe Cameron books I've been working on, then there is a Benedict Bridgerton fanfic in the works for all of my Bridgerton girlies as well 🤭🤭🤭
