Two years have passed since eri was saved. She made quite a lot of progress while with Kota. She was finally caught up on everything, just enough to start actual school....of course she had to start at a grade below what she was supposed to be putting her and Kota in the same grade. Eri was placed into all of Kota's classes and was allowed to have Kota help her on assignments.
"Kota! Look!" Eri smiles as she shows Kota that she managed to make a cute flower in the corner of her notes, "heh nice" Kota smiles rubbing eri's head. Suddenly a girl scoffs and holds onto Kota's arm, "listen. I know you're new and all. But Kota's MINE so why not just run along and find your own fr-" the girl starts. "Lauren shut the hell up." Kota shoves Lauren off and hugs eri. "Don't listen to her okay?" Kota reassures eri, "wanna show me what else you can draw?" Kota asks trying to get eri to smile. "Oh...um sure!" Eri says, "why are you so interested in what she can draw? It looks like a kindergartner tried drawing it.... actually no a kindergartner can-" Lauren Starts, "Lauren, you are testing how far you can push me before I actually punch a girl." Kota growls, "spoiler alert if you open your mouth one more god damn time I'm gonna break your god damn jaw. Now get the fuck out of my face." Kota says harshly, eri's never once seen Kota act that way and she whimpers a little scared.
"Hey...hey it's okay eri... you didn't do anything wrong" Kota says, his mood quickly changing. He was so gentle and patient with eri, and he could easily go from pissed off to so sweet and kind when eri was there. "Please don't cry eri..." Kota wipes eri's tears away and holds her. "Shhh....shhh you're okay... can you give me a smile eri?" Kota asks and eri was hesitant but smiles. "There's that beautiful smile" Kota says relieved to see her smiling. "Now I wanna see more of your beautiful drawing...think you can draw me something extra pretty?" Kota asks and eri nods. "Mhm!" She then starts to draw more and Kota sits next to her admiring the girl. Kota felt his heart flutter from how adorable eri looks and he kisses her cheek.
Lauren sees how Kota looks at eri and she growls. She then grabs Kota and goes to pull him away from eri, "he's m-" Lauren starts. Before Lauren knew it she felt a sharp pain as Kota punched her so hard he broke her jaw. "I said get the fuck out of my face you dumb bitch." Kota says trying not to yell. He knew loud noises scare eri which is why he made sure not to yell when she's around. "...bitch?" Eri repeats and Kota felt his heart sink, "no...no no no eriiiii" Kota turns back to the girl. "You're too pure...." He says hugging eri and looking at the paper. "Woah...is that a dog? It's so pretty-" Kota starts, "it's a horse....." Eri corrects him looking at the drawing, "...what a lovely horse it is eri!" Kota smiles kissing eri on the nose.
Eri smiles and looks up at Kota. It didn't take long but Kota and Lauren were taken to the office. Eri ended up having to join Kota because she had a little panic attack at the thought of being away from Kota. Sure eventually they were gonna try getting eri used to being apart from Kota and be more independent... regardless they were going to let eri stay by Kota's side, especially right now since they were mainly concerned about getting eri used to being around large crowds of loud children.
Eri sat in the office while Lauren and Kota were talking to the principal. Eri eventually sees mandalay and some other lady come in. "Ms. Mandalay!" Eri smiles waving hi, Mandalay's face quickly goes from annoyed and pissed to soft and gentle. "Hey eri, I'm so sorry you must be so bored up here..." Mandalay says kneeling in front of eri, "I have to go deal with something really quick then we can head home okay?" Eri nods and mandala steps into the principal's office.
The meeting was talking longer than usual. And while eri was getting used to being apart from Kota for 25 minutes every now and then, a half an hour was starting to push it. Eventually she breaks and goes inside the principal's office, "told ya" Kota sighs annoyed as he turns to eri. He gets up holding eri's hand, he knew that she did her best to stay outside the office and she lasted 10 minutes longer than usual. "Hey eri...I know it's scary and you wanna be with me but these two over here aren't being very nice and they're yelling a lot..." Kota says and eri tears up, "..." Kota sighs and wipes away eri's tears, "you wanna sit next to me? If you do you have to promise not to remove the soundproof headphones okay?" Eri nods and Kota leads eri over to the principal's desk. Mandalay puts on the soundproof hours and has eri sit on her lap.
