The World Is Awake

The Hunger

The Pain

The Suffering

The Strain

You search the empty cabinet

And look at the bare shelf.

You close the doors

And you look at yourself.

You see skin and bones

and your pale, drained face.

You search for that young, healthy girl

But, you can't find a trace.

You feel a hollowness in your chest

And a cave at the pit of your stomach.

You slip into the vortex

And from there you plummet.

You slowly fade into the dark

Until you can't feel the ache.

This is the end of your struggle

Because the world is finally awake.
