Poems: A Tour Through My Mind

Darkness

I try to blend in with the darkness

To a place I call home

Disappear from the judging eyes

Of the people I used to know.

I slip into the background

To avoid the pain

I hide from those words

That drive me insane.

Why can't the darkness take me?

Why can't it pull me in?

This place is making me crazy

This is a war I can't win.

Why can't the darkness take me?

Why can't it let me in?

I need to get to saftey

My patience is running thin

I want to hide from those faces

From the people within

I need to find an oasis

A place I can begin.

They're making it difficult

Those people that can not see

That I'm dying from the inside

And I need to be set free
