Choice

The choice is yours,

But you won't make it,

I try to help,

But you won't take it,

The longer you wait,

The more that it hurts,

Because you aren't choosing me.

I'm taking it into my own hands,

Answering the yes or no,

I can't do this anymore,

And It's clear I have to go.

The rejection is there,

But you disguise it,

You try to look sorry,

But you can't hide it.

I leave on my own terms,

With my back in your sight,

I grab all my things

You don't try to fight,

I take a look back,

And know that I'm right.
