Elwine was making her way back home from her shift, doing event photography. She has been in the field since she was 15, enjoying the freedom and creativity. She loved being able to capture people's moments, whether good or bad.

Elwine's mother used to take her around the art gallery frequently. Something about seeing the world through other's perspectives intrigued the young girl.

For her 6th birthday, she received a small Polaroid camera from her mother. She took it with her everywhere. She could vividly recall running around Amy's garden, taking photos ranging from flowers and insects to her best friend.

She smiled to herself while skipping down the small town, mindful to still watch her step. Blasting through her headphones was 'Live While We're Young', Elwine absentmindedly hummed along to the tune.

Before she realised, she had turned the street corner and came face to face with her new home. Once Amy and she had turned 18, they both decided to move in together into Amy's old house. Considering it was practically Elwine's second home growing up, now it was just officially hers.

Elwine stepped through the old red door and called out to her best friend to let her know she made it home safely.

Placing her coat neatly onto the coat rack, she scanned the first floor for Amy. Usually, she greeted Elwine at the door, and they discussed each other's day.

Frowning, she trekked up to the second story, assuming Amy was taking a nap or shower.

"Amy? Are you okay? I have a funny story about this old couple in the store today, they came in an-" before she could continue her story, a hand grabbed her arm pulling her into the bathroom.

A small yelp escaped from the blonde's plumped lips.

"SHH!" whisper-yelled Amy to the short woman.

"What? Why'd you drag me into the bathroom?" Elwine questioned with wide eyes, missing the obvious cues something was wrong.

"Didn't you see my text messages? I told you not to come home, someone broke in," Amy informed her friend, watching as her face contorted into a panic.

"WHAT! Did you call the police? My phone died, I forgot my charger at home this morning, and then the store was so hectic I couldn't charge it and then-" Elwine was cut off from her nervous ranting by Amy walking out, assuming to check on the intruder.

Peeking her head out from the bathroom door, she noticed a familiar man handcuffed to the radiator. Butterflies flooded her stomach at the sight. Unknown whether from nerves or his physique. He was more attractive than the now 19-year-old recalled.
