Elwine's insides churned as she dropped further into the darkness. The trip down felt like eternity, although it would've been no longer than 5 minutes.
The Doctor and Elwine had landed into the unknown area first with a squelch. The pair were in the same position as the trip down, with the Doctor holding the young girl firmly onto his chest. Feeling self conscious about her weight on top of him, Elwine wriggled from his grasp, but found it much more difficult than she anticipated.
Covering the floors beneath her was a slimy substance, causing the young girl to slip and slide. Amidst her difficulties, Amy had also appeared from the shute, landing with her own squelch, and disgust.
Looking around the environment, Amy's eyes landed on her best friend. Amy, finding enjoyment from her friend's battle with gravity, doubled over in laughter, before slushing her way to support the poor girl.
With a tight grip to Amy's forearm, Elwine managed to find her balance in the sludge.
"High speed cannon. Lousy way to travel," the Doctor spoke, examining the space they were in.
"Where are we?" Amy asked, making her way over to the Doctor, dragging a stumbling Elwine with her.
"Where ever we are it's disgusting,"
"Six hundred feet down, twenty miles laterally, puts us at the heart of the ship. I'd say Lancashire," he guessed, Elwine watched in amazement as he recalled their coordinates. The Doctor led the two girls further into the dimly lit area, coming face to face to a dark opening. "What's this then, a cave? Can't be a cave. Looks like a cave".
"It's a rubbish dump, and it's minging!" Elwine nodded in agreement to Amy's outburst.
Her once pristine white jumper was ruined, her whole body covered in sticky filth, which was sending her into a sensory overdrive. She had tried to tug the heavy fabric off of her frame, but to her avail it kept clinging back.
"Yes, but only food refuse. Organic, coming through feeder tubes from all over the ship,"
"That doesn't make it any better," the blonde whined, flicking any remains of goop off of herself.
"The floor's all squidgy, like a water bed," Amy observed, although the Doctor was too preoccupied with his previous thought to acknowledge either girl.
"But feeding what, though?"
"Does it matter? I just want to get out," Elwine tried to walk over to the man on the other side of the room, but the goop swelling at her feet had other ideas.
Before the girl could plummet face first into the pinky slime, hands gripped her arms and tugged her into their chest. Despite the foul stench of the slime, she sensed the familiar and comforting scent of the Doctor that she'd learned to love in the short time they'd be together.
