Young Elwine Peregrine-Montgomery

Elwine Peregrine-Montgomery has been best friends with Amelia Pond since the two girls could walk. Often more times than none, they would find themselves jumping from house to house, for never-ending sleepovers. They were the type of friends that you would never see without the other. Siamese twins Elwine's mother would call them.
Tonight was a night like no other, or so they thought. Little did Elwine know this night would change her perception of the world around her. The sun was starting to set and left an overcast and eery feel to young Amelia Pond's bedroom. A feeling that never went unnoticed.
Both girls were running around Amelia's room, pulling dresses and knick-knacks from the cupboard, to create the best fancy dress outfit.
"Elwine, have you seen my pink feather boa?" Amelia questioned with an impatient whine to her tone, the Scottish accent coming out even stronger. She never was patient, which made Elwine giggle internally.
"Last time I saw it was downstairs. I think next to the tv", Elwine replied, with a soft tone.
As Amelia was adventuring downstairs for her decorative piece, Elwine started looking for the finishing touches to her outfit. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a maroon necktie tucked within a red fez. They both looked well-loved. She knew in that instant this was what she needed to finish her look.

After another 10 minutes, both girls were ready. It was the night of their monthly tea party. Sitting waiting patiently at the head of the table was no other than Felix. Elwine's most prized possession.
She never let the bear from her sight. You could tell he was well-loved. His once golden curls were tatted and mangled together, representing a greyish colour now. But the blonde didn't mind.
Elwine could vividly remember when she and her late mother, had won the teddy at an Amusement Park. Little did they know, a tall man off in the distance had rigged the game for the green-eyed girl. He was enticed by her innocent persona.
Her mother's smile lit up the park, as she 'won' her daughter the bear of her dreams. They had spent hours on that one game, not giving up on it. It was their lucky night, her mother told her. From that night onwards Felix was always there to protect the girl from harm. Her guardian angel.

Amelia's aunt had come into the girl's room, breaking them from their enjoyment. Elwine was never a fan of Amelia's aunt, but she wouldn't dare say that out loud. Amelia, on the other hand, made her distaste for her aunt known.
Clutching her newfound fez, she listened intently to what the adult had to say. Even if she wasn't interested in the conversation's topic, Elwine always gave everyone the same level of engagement. The girl never wanted someone to feel unheard or unimportant.
