As Enzo, Max, and Antonio gathered around the raw food, Branden couldn't contain his curiosity and asked if they intended to consume it as is. The trio exchanged bewildered glances, prompting Max to inquire, "How do you eat your food?" Branden simply replied, "Cooked," leaving them perplexed once again. Branden then pulled out two rocks from his pocket and began striking them together over a pile of sticks and leaves.
The others questioned his actions, starting to think he might be crazy. However, just before they could express their skepticism, a spark ignited from the rocks, and flames danced upon the sticks and leaves. Branden, undeterred, picked up his portion of food and set it next to him. He carefully positioned a long stick above the fire, ensuring it didn't burn but remained close enough to eradicate germs and prevent illness.
Branden, with a sense of precision, pushed the stick through the meat, turning it over the fire in a slow, deliberate motion. After around 10 minutes, he checked if the meat was cooked, and to his delight, it was. Rummaging through his pockets, Branden pulled out a leaf, tore it up, and spread the torn pieces across the cooked meat.
As he began to eat, the others couldn't take their eyes off him. Witnessing cooked meat for the first time, they looked curious, prompting Branden to offer them each a small bite. Max, after trying it, dropped to his knees, exclaiming, "Teach me how to do this thing you call cooking." The others followed suit, each discovering it to be the most appetising thing they had ever tasted.
Branden continued with his meal, unfazed by their newfound culinary fascination. Picking up flint and steel, he sparked a flame again. The trio returned, sitting by Branden's fire, attempting to replicate his cooking technique. Branden chuckled as one of their sticks caught fire. He then gathered three long, thin sticks, repeating the process for their food. The trio observed closely, and Branden handed them their sticks.
After waiting another 10 minutes, their meat was cooked. Branden sprinkled some more herbs onto their food. Astonished at the flavour, the trio savoured the cooked meat, realising the culinary wonders that Branden had introduced them to. The night unfolded with laughter, shared stories, and the warmth of a newfound camaraderie, as the diverse group explored not only their differences but also the simple joy of a cooked meal.
