Staring down into the seemingly bottomless abyss, the four companions found themselves at a crossroads, their options limited by the perilous circumstances. The utopia across from them, bathed in an otherworldly light, taunted them with the promise of escape. As they deliberated on their next move, Max, ever the one to explore unconventional possibilities, suggested, "What if I flew us over by turning into my dragon state?"
Branden, quick to assess the practicalities, countered, "If you were to go into your dragon state, the ledge would give out, and the three of us would fall to our deaths. Plus, the ledge isn't even four meters wide." Antonio, not eager to meet his demise, nodded in agreement. Enzo, the realist of the group, acknowledged, "And not all of us can fly."
Max, recognising the potential danger, swiftly retracted his idea, not willing to risk the lives of his companions. The four of them continued to brainstorm, seeking an escape route from their predicament. Enzo then proposed, "What if there's something down there? Maybe there's a way out." Antonio, practical as always, raised a pertinent question, "And just how would we get down there? Some of us can't fly," a reference to himself and Branden.
Suddenly, a sharp bang echoed, followed by a crumbling sound. The companions instinctively raised their guard, anticipating a threat. Without warning, the cliff beneath them gave way, and the four companions plunged into the dark abyss that seemed to stretch infinitely. As they fell, each ended up in a different spot, reaching out to one another as the walls closed in.
The fall seemed endless, but Enzo's voice pierced through the rush of air, "The walls are closing in! Try to stay as close together as you can." Panic set in as the companions huddled together, realising the imminent danger of the confined space. Branden, showing resilience in the face of peril, shouted, "On the count of 3, put your feet up against the walls! 3... 2... 1!" The four companions coordinated, pushing their legs against the walls, slowing their descent until they came to an abrupt stop.
Antonio, assessing the situation, voiced the concern, "What are we supposed to do now that we've stopped? We can't go back up." The realization dawned on them that they couldn't hold on indefinitely. Branden suggested, "Maybe we should... go down... to the bottom." The proposal raised eyebrows, understandable given the uncertainties—what lurked below, the possibility of endless depths, or even encounters with perilous creatures. Antonio, Max, and Enzo, however, grasped the gravity of the situation; their legs could give out at any moment, leaving them plummeting to their deaths.
Reluctantly, the others agreed with Branden, acknowledging the pragmatic approach. Slowly, they began their descent, pushing against each other's backs for support. With each step, fatigue set in, their muscles protesting from overuse. Cramps began to gnaw at them, but determination fuelled their progress. Finally, the bottom came into view, a distant yet tangible destination. Hastening their descent, they let their feet slide down the walls until, at last, their feet touched the ground. The journey into the abyss had led them to an unknown realm, and as they stood at the bottom, uncertainty lingered in the air, their future in this mysterious abyss still unfolding.
