I couldn't help but feel nervous.

Of course I was nervous, I fucked everything up last time.. but now, standing here on the doorstep of a complete stranger, that made me even more nervous. Last time at least it was someone I knew very well, my brother, who was taking care of me, but not even he wants to see me anymore. Not after what I did.

The hand that touched my back startled me and I jumped, my supervisor leaning in front of me to ring the doorbell. When he leaned back I turned to him. "Do we have to?" I whispered, annoyed that I was even here in the first place. Annoyed that I fucked everything up at home and now I was forced to turn to a complete stranger for help.

"Yes, this is best for you, to have a new roommate." I sighed in response, looking around the porch and swinging my body right and left like a child. "We both know whoever lives here is my babysitter, not a roommate," I answered exasperatedly. "He's your new roommate who offered his home up for you to share with him, show a little gratitude," My supervisor assigned by the government of health told me. He wasn't a bad guy, Mr. Parker, I just didn't like him because he was my supervisor. Every time I see him, it reminds me how we met and why we met.

Before we could bicker anymore, the sound of the lock clicking made my heart drop into my stomach. The door opened and Mr. Parker nudged me forward so I would face the door. The man that stood in front of me, he was.. well he was tall, and he looked young. He was smiling, a very wide smile. His shoulders were broad and he looked like he worked out just enough to keep a nice physique. He was wearing comfortable clothing, and his hair was a mess, but oddly not in a bad way.

"Hello, you must be Miles, Miles Parker?" I looked up at him when he spoke, because his voice was so deep but soft, a seasoned British accent accentuating his words. When his eyes met mine I felt a sense of challenge and I straightened up to my full height, which was a few inches under him. I gave him a look that I myself think screamed confidence.

"And you must be Theodore Hallock."

I looked away leisurely, before looking back, raising my chin.

"Mhm," I hummed.
