CHARLIE

SAVANNAH'S EYES WATCH THE stingray's floating amidst the chaos. The amber in them carries some kind of peace and I point my finger to the other fishes swimming, hoping she looks that way so I can take a picture of her.

She does and I snap one. The slight reflection of her face in the glass makes me smile.

"In other dimensions it would be the other way around." I put my hand on her head and turn her head towards mine. Hoping her eyes catch mine. For a second they do, but she avoids my gaze and nods.

"I think it already is." She mutters. "They're watching us too."

She has already accepted the other dimension thing and I can't help but be excited for this running theme to become a part of our relationship.

I let out a chuckle, "How do you know?"

The glare she sends my way liquifies my excitement and I feel my fingertips electrifying. Every time her eyes land on any part of me I feel victorious and proud. She knocks down my ego but pulls it up by just looking at me.

Her hand lies on the glass and I notice some of the smaller fishes following her fingertips. She slides them to one side and then the other, a tug on her lips.

"They see us the same way we see them." Her voice becomes tender and I put my arm around her shoulders as her body tenses up, I find myself hoping she gets used to my touch. She doesn't have a choice for now.

"Do you think they're thinking the same thing we are?" I question and watch her nose wrinkle.

"And what are we thinking?"

"That eating the other would be disgusting." I shoot out my tongue and the wrinkle in her nose deepens.

"Why are you even thinking of eating them?" She pulls away from my hand and ventures further into the tunnel.

I'm following her like a puppy, wagging my tail and perking my ears up each time she lets out a gasp, an awe, any noise and I'm instantly by her side to hear it.

"You are too, don't lie." I flick her forehead and notice the scar on it, wondering if she'd ever tell me how she got it, even if asking her why she can't drink doesn't get me a straight answer.

"I would never think of eating them. I don't like sea food." I finally get her to show something about her and I'm catching on every fact she says. "They're too fishy, too gummy..."

"The woman of my dreams." I whisper and watch her shoulders tense up. She side-eyes me and I let the smile on my face turn into a full blown grin.

"In a different dimension." She mutters and turns away from me.

"Matter of fact, in every dimension." I state proudly pulling her back to my side and sliding my hand over her shoulder once again, aching for her to not shrug it away.
