SAVANNAH

I'M TOO ANXIOUS TO drive but somehow I manage with Enzo sitting next to me. His body is buzzing with excitement. Yesterday we stayed up until three and just talked. We talked about how Enzo after Eret passed away couldn't manage himself with people and became a little bit of a loner.

I asked if it was better now, Enzo said that a girl named Louise always talked to him and made him feel better. I wanted to find that girl and embrace her in my arms for being so kind.

We talked about Ivy and Werner and Charlie. I told Enzo that Ivy and Werner will someday get married. Enzo chuckled at that and told me that he secretly wants Louise to be his girlfriend. I told him that he should take a chance and tell her how he feels. He says he doesn't want to complicate things.

We're not sitting and waiting in the parking lot, while Charlie drives in.

"He has a dog named Bebe." I explain when Enzo points out the creature next to Charlie. They both step out of the truck and I find myself anxious again.

Is this even a good idea? Bringing my little brother into this?

He'll be even more hurt after I kill myself and I promised quietly that I won't introduce Charlie to any of my family members. But two days and I'm doing just that. It makes my palms sweat cooly but Enzo's excitement brings me to open my door and step out.

"Sava-haha!" The man rushes to me and embraces me, his scent grounds me as my head falls into his chest. I smile up at him and he pulls me deeper into him.

"Yo, don't touch my sister." I hear Enzo complain but he's busy letting Bebe sniff him.

Charlie glances at Enzo in surprise and I find myself hiding a smile. His gaze falls down to me and I shrug in his arms. "Sister?"

"This is—" I begin to motion to him but E steps closer to us with his arms crossed, the tough look he's placed on his face makes me stiffen a laugh while he raises an eyebrow.

"I'm Lorenzo." He nods at Charlie.

Charlie looks at me with a grin and I just shake my head.

The man next to me steps out with his hand out, "I'm Charlie, Savannah's friend."

"Just a friend?" Lorenzo's eyebrow shoots up and I choke on laughter.

"Enzo, cut it out." I take Enzo's elbow and drag him to start walking to the football field.

"You both look so similar." Charlie comments, a toy dangling from his neck, Bebe keeps heeling until Charlie takes the toy and throws it further. "It's scary."

"We're siblings, Charleston..." I roll my eyes watching Enzo chase Bebe when she walks to him with the toy. "You don't have any siblings?"

"I think I have a little half sister and a little half brother but I'm not really sure." His hand comes up to rub the back of his neck and I nudge his shoulder with mine.
