Chapter 38

I couldn't believe he was actually going to betray me and meet that slut bag of a whore. By the time I got into hotel, Ash was already at the counter asking for the room number where he was going to spend that night. My whole body was going numb, seeing him asking for room number to spend a night with a girl who wasn't me, his girlfriend. I felt like I barely knew him. Who was he? The ash I fell in love with few years back only cared about me, his mum and his sister, he wouldn't even glance at another women. And now he was doing this.

"Room 26A" the receptionist stated to Ash who thanked her and made his way to the elevator.

I decided to take the stairs so I could think about what I was about to do. I hadn't even thought about what my actions would be once I arrived there. All my thoughts were clouded with this one question. Why was he doing this to me?

I walked down the corridor searching left and right for room 26A. Then there it was, I stood right in front of it for about what felt like an hour, thinking about how I should knock and find my boyfriend with another.

A young couple strolled down the corridor, passing me. They gave me a look as they saw I was just standing outside a room. I really couldn't care what they thought of me right now. My eyes travelled down and settled on the fingers, intertwined with each other. The girl's other hand was gripped onto her partner's forearm. My gaze followed them and I couldn't help but picture Ash and I in their places. I felt the tears begin to prick my eyes so I quickly composed myself. There was no way I was turning up in a crying heap.

Eventually I plucked the courage to knock on the door. After two knocks I could hear giggling and feet shuffling.

Suddenly the door opened to reveal a blonde girl who looked around the same age as me, "Erm hi who are you?" She spoke, wrapped in red silky dressing gown. Her eyes were covered wth long fake eyelashes, something I knew Ash didn't like on a girl, her lips were painted a bright pink. I had expected to be crying or somewhat choking once I saw her, but her typical appearance only made me feel angry.

"You don't need to know, is my boyfriend here?" I waved her off and barged into the hotel room to find Ash pulling his boxers up.

His blue eyes were wide and he rushed towards me.

"Phoebs....."

"Shut the fuck up" Seeing him like that brought out my temper.

"Phoebs babes this is not what it looks like" Ash tried to reach for my hand but I moved it out of his reach and did the unexpected.

I slapped him

"What does it look like? Because all I see is you naked with this... in a hotel room, it's quite self-explanatory" I screamed at him causing my voice to crack filling my eyes up with water and Ash standing there in silence with his hand on his left side of his face.

"Are you serious, are you not going to fucking say anything, are you just going to stand here. Ash you are a lot of things but a scared coward wasn't one of them till now" Tears were streaming down my face now.

Silence...

"Ash fucking say something" I grabbed his arm and shook him. Why the fuck wasn't he saying something? I wanted him to say that I was wrong and this was just an act, and that I got it wrong. I just wanted him to fight for me. But all he was doing was standing in silence.

"ASH!" I screamed at him with our faces less than 15cm apart.

"Sorry" he eventually opened his mouth.

Was he even being serious, all he can say is that he is sorry.

"Sorry for what exactly, lying to me, being a douche bag, or just me finding out, tell me I really want to know?"

"Everything I'm sorry for everything, I never wanted to hurt you" he said softly

"Then why did you, why? I thought we loved each other, you loved me and I loved you" My voice was just a whisper now.

"I'm sorry"

"I never want to see you again, I fucking hate you, I hate you so fucking much." Part of me just wanted him to retaliate, to shout at me and somehow twist this whole thing back one me. Anything but the silence he was giving me.

What was wrong with him, he wasn't the guy I knew few months ago, where was my Ash. I looked up at him one more time. This whole time his gaze hadn't moved from face yet he couldn't explain himself to me. I was done with this

"I hope you enjoy your night" I broke the silence.

"Phoebe" He pleaded.

"What Ash what!" There was no way he was explaining now. I had given him plenty of opportunity.

"I never wanted to hurt you, I'm sorry"

"But you did Ash" I turned around before he could disappoint me even more.

HARRY'S POV

I sat back as Gemma folded all of sweats and placed them in a pile. Having her pack for me was so much easier, I guess women had more instinct with this sort of stuff. She had been unusually quiet with me, only shaking her head yes or no or giving me vague answers. I was just about to ask her what was wrong when my phone started to ring.

It was Phoebe's manager calling so I quickly answered, wondering what she could possibly want to talk to me about at this hour.

"Hey Kate how are you?"

"Harry can you get down to the nearest hospital now" Kate spoke quickly, panic laced in her voice.

"What's happened? Are you okay?" My body started to tense and Gemma's head perked up in my direction.

"There's been an accident. Phoebe was involved"

Her words hit me like a ton of bricks. No, worse than that. Phoebe was in hospital.

I grabbed my keys and moved towards the door. Kate had hung up, probably to be with Phoebe as well.

"What's happened Harry?" Gemma scurried after me.

"Phoebes hurt. I'll go and check on her, you just stay with Tash and let everyone know what's happened" I instructed before heading into the elevator. She gave me a quick nod and headed off to the others' rooms.
