Miller looked at the image the doctor had handed him.
It was an M-ray of Tony's chest and eye regions when he used his magic...which both glowed with yellow energy when he did, A good sign.
Tony sat on the bed...fiddling with the small orb of molten gold he made, which functioned like slime.
"It appears his magic potential was finally unlocked! Gold too! Lucky kid!" The doctor said happily, watching Tony play with the small ball.
"What's up with his eye though, any ideas?" Miller asked, still worried about the reaction...
"it might be acting as a catalyst for his power, but we would have to experiment more for it to be sure..." The doctor said...
"I don't wanna do any more experiments right now-!" Tony complained, he had been in the office for almost an hour and a half doing magical tests...
"Heh- Well, thank you for your help." Miller said, handing the doctor back the pictures...
"You still have next months appointment scheduled, yes?"
Miller nodded, and soon he and Tony were out back on the road to the casino...
Tony enjoyed his next few days.
After a few times asking, Miller had given Tony permission to start heading back out on couriering jobs and, in general, out into the world!
And while the two spent a lot of their time at the Casino, sifting through the piles of information they had robbed from that apartment, Tony found time for packages and letters.
And on one of these days...he got himself into a situation.
Tony had been walking the bustling Alleys of Inia, the city the casino was apart of. Walking by stalls and shops of trinkets for tourists...
And then, he saw her.
In the corner of his right eye...looking at the stalls with what he assumed to be two friends...
Was the girl from the apartment.
Dark skin, long black hair, blonde cat ears and tail...plus her face was covered in scratches and bruises.
Tony, suddenly feeling unsafe, slipped through a crowd and into the shadows...6 years in the Yakuza taught him many skills...
He quietly stalked the woman...and her friends. The package could wait, this was important.
Tony followed them around a bit...3 high school girls just going about afterschool business.
...until the woman Tony had focused on split from the group...and Tony made his move.
He quietly walked around a corner and bumped into her, dropping his package.
"Ah- Dangit-!" Tony said, bending down to pick up the package...
"Oh! I'm so sorry sir-!" the girl said, bending down and helping him pick up the package.
"I didn't notice you step out until it was too late, I'm sorry." She apologized again."No- No- Its fine miss- we all make mistakes." Tony replied, trying to comfort her.
"Hey...don't I know you?" he asked, pointing at her.
"Huh? Oh um- I don't think so? I've never seen you around before..." The girl replied, looking at Tony with her bright purple eyes.
"Ah...maybe someone else then..." Tony mumbled, holding out his hand.
"I'm Tony!" He said with a smile, and the girl shook his hand.
"Sparky- Nice to meet you!" She said back happily, her tail wagging a bit.
"Well- You wanna grab a drink or something- This package isn't important or anything-"
Sparky chuckled.
"Oh, I'd love to- but I have a place I need to be- Maybe another day, where do you think we could meet for that?" Sparky asked, she didn't mind the kid. Something in his eyes said he was trustworthy.
"Uh...maybe just stop by Quwe after school-? I usually swing by there every day or so...around that time." Tony said, and the girl smiled.
"Oh, that cafe-? I've heard it's good...maybe I will! Thanks!" Sparky said, then walked off.
Once Tony was sure she wouldn't be looking at him...he phoned Miller.
A few hours later, in Miller's office, the conversation between him and Tony about Sparky was...interesting.
"So, she said nothing about you? Has no Idea who you are?" Miller asked, wanting to make sure.
"I mean- I re introduced myself as just Tony. But yeah, she didn't appear to recognize me at all." Tony explained.
"Are you SURE it was the same girl?" Miller asked next, leaning forward on his desk.
"...She had the bruises on her face."
Miller narrowed his blue eyes and sighed.
"Welp...guess your becoming friends with her." He said, leaning back in his chair.
"Woah- what?" Tony asked.
"Look, as much as I'm happy shes not on us...It's important we keep an eye on her. Befriend her. Keep track of her, I want to know how she fits into his deal with Severance...and whatever other Yakuza are in on it." He added, it hurt him internally. But he knew with all the information that Severance was worming its way to the center of Arcer's affairs...they wanted the planet. And they were going to kill anyone who didn't support them.
And so, the next day, Tony walked into the cafe at half past 3PM, and Sparky waved him over.
"Hey-! Glad you could make it! Good recommendation by the way, this place is great!"
