Okay, so we both remember.
But what does this mean...where do Jimin and I stand? Are we friends, bros, buddies? Is he interested in me? Am I interested in him?
That night on the beach...we shared our first kiss.
I shake my head. I need to organise my feelings, no point in getting my hopes up if he's not even interested and even if he is, is this something I want to get myself tangled up in? A relationship with an actor?
At least there's no awkwardness between us anymore. I thought my back was gonna break from all the extra running around I was doing. He smiles in my direction sometimes too.
The set decorator got an almighty telling off from Yoongi and a few higher-ups, according to Eun-Hye he's been making mistakes right, left and centre and blaming all of it on the staff below him. He hasn't been fired but he sulks around the place like a kid who's been told they're banned from their Xbox.
I knock on the green room door and open it with my elbow. "I have some refreshments," I look around the room but the only actor in there is Jimin who is getting his makeup done, next to him is a tall slender man with black hair parted slightly to reveal a smooth forehead. I guess that's his manager or something? I set the drinks down on the table and take them out of their cup holders.
"Ah, Hobi this isn't working," Jimin complains and rubs his forehead.
"What? I'm reading the lines like you asked."
"But you're reading them like a robot. I can't get into character properly." Jimin pouts.
"I can't help it when I'm not an actor or a woman for that matter!" Hobi quips and the makeup artist next to him scoffs slightly while trying to suppress a smile. Hobi's sharp eyes glare at her and she jumps on the spot.
"Ah-well you're all done!" She quickly packs up her bag and walks out of the green room.
I chuckle slightly and place the remaining drinks on the table. I look up and see Jimin in the mirror staring at me with a devilish glint in his eyes. "You're right Hobi, you're not a woman." He turns slightly in his seat and faces Hobi "So I should practice with a woman right?"
"I guess? I could find Ha-Yoon or maybe Esther if you'd like?"
He's not...he's not about to say what I think he will say right?
"No, I don't want to bother them. I'll just ask one of the staff members." Jimin grins.
I quietly spin on the spot and sneakily make my way to the door "Oh you there." Jimin calls and I stop in my tracks. "Sorry I don't know your name, would you mind reading my lines with me please?"
Son of a-
I turn around and plaster a smile across my face "Sure I've got a few minutes to spare, I'm Layla."
Jimin stands to his feet and comes to sit at the table where the drinks are. He pulls a chair out for me and gestures at Hobi to give me the script "Thanks..." I sit down.
Jimin clears his throat and looks up at Hobi "Ah, Hobi I'm a bit hungry do you mind grabbing me some food from the cafeteria?"
Hobi eyes both of us "Sure...do you want the grilled chicken sandwich again?"
"Hmm, I'll just have a salad this time and-oh! Can you get me one of those smoothies from that cafe round the corner?" Jimin shines a set of puppy dog eyes.
Hobi sighs "Fine." He slowly walks out of the room and shuts the door behind him.
I playfully hit Jimin's arm "You are the worst!"
He laughs "Why?"
"You asked me to practice your lines with you on purpose."
He leans in closer "And what if I did?"
I cough "Anyway...what part did you wanna go over?"
"Page 12."
"So I'm which character?"
He chuckles "You're Jian, my character's crush."
I feel my cheeks burn slightly "Right, okay."
He clears his throat and looks at me "Layla, it's your line."
"Oh sorry!" I look down and read the script "You're late again."
"The bus ran late! You believe me don't you?" Woah, his acting is amazing. "Layla, focus." He whispers.
I look at the script again "You're always late...do you even like hanging out with me?"
"I do I really do! I...I like you, Jian."
"You what?"
Jimin holds my hand. I-uhh is this necessary? "Do you...do you like me?"
I look down at the script for my next line but all it says is that Jian looks deeply into Taeyang's eyes...so Jimin's eyes then? I look up and see Jimin's eyes boring into mine, shining with tears. Damn, he takes practising his lines so seriously.
"Jian...I'm in love with you."
My heart thuds in my chest.
D-did my heart just skip a beat!?
Woah, woah, just calm down Layla. This is Taeyang telling Jian he loves her not Jimin saying he loves me! My cheeks start to burn and I quickly bury my face in the script again. Jian and Teayang share a tender felt kiss...yeah right. I am not doing that.
I peer up and see Jimin's face slowly getting closer to mine.
W-wait a m-minute here! I don't think that...we should...should...
His lips look so plump and...glossy. His mouth parts open slightly and for some reason, my body leans in wanting a taste. I want him.
"Yo, Jimin."
Shit!
I panic and throw myself backwards away from Jimin and fall off my chair. I look up and see Hobi standing in the doorway holding a to-go bag. "Oh! Are you okay?"
This is so embarrassing!
I jump to my feet and blood rushes to my head making me stagger slightly "What are you doing to the staff?" Hobi scolds.
I stand in a daze with my face burning bright red.
"Layla, are you-"
"I have to go." I quickly run out of the room.
Can the ground open up and swallow me whole, please!?
