A/n: CW for this chapter! Mentions of drowning/more scary scenes as expected since this is a thriller.

Finally, you and Xiao reached Ganyu's driveway, where his and her cars had been left parked on the pavement. The second you saw the state of them though, any hope of escape you'd had before left your body.

Both cars had had all four of their tires slashed, as well as every window smashed in. Not only that, but based on how the hoods had been left open, you suspected they'd done some internal tampering with the engines too, making the cars completely undrivable.

You glanced at your boyfriend, who still seemed relatively calm, even though you knew he was just as stressed as you were.

"W-what do we do now?" You whispered, gently taking his had as he turned back to you. "Chongyun's car might still be functional but it's pretty far away. And...He's probably still inside." You could feel your stomach twist in disgust as you uttered the last part, a shiver running down your spine from the memory of the blue haired boy's death.

What were you supposed to do now? You two were stranded in the mountains with no phone or car, or any other way of calling for help. Plus, although you'd managed to take car of Yelan, you knew the other killer was still around here somewhere, however injured Xiao may have made them.

"For now we need to get somewhere safe so I can treat your wounds." Xiao replied finally, looking you over with a grimace. You knew you'd gotten hurt earlier but had yet to see just how bad you looked. From the pain on his face though, you knew it wasn't great.

You reached around to the back of your clothes where you'd fallen on the rocks in the river earlier, feeling a now-cool liquid coating your hand as you did so. You ripped your hand away, not needing to see it to know it was blood.

"Where do we go?" You asked, almost regretting the question as soon as it left your mouth. Xiao glanced out at the area, eyes falling on the only other house nearby which rested just down the street.

You understood what he was implying and nodded your head. Though Ganyu had said her adoptive sister was out of town right now and that was why Chongyun had been coming by, it was still your best option for refuge right now. At least there, you could get patched up and look for some way to contact the police or any other kind of help. It was better than not trying at all, at least.

"Alright." You told Xiao finally, following him down the street and towards the house of the currently absent white haired woman. As you walked, you made sure to keep an eye out on the woods nearby. After all, these killers had a habit of popping up out of nowhere.

Thinking about the second one, who was no doubt still lurking around somewhere, made your stomach churn. Who could they be?

Not liking the eerie silence that was currently surrounding you two, you turned to Xiao again. "Why...Do you think they're doing this?" You asked softly.

He glanced back at you but instantly regretted it when he saw your fearful face. Guilt overwhelmed him then; he'd never wanted anything like this to happen to you, and somehow, he knew it was his own fault. Still, he couldn't lie to you about it either so he decided to tell you his theory.

"I think they targeted you and the others to get at me." He admitted as he turned away again, "First Verr Goldet, then Hu Tao goes missing, and then Yelan lures you out here. She even made sure I would be around to see it when she sent me your location; of course, I think she'd planned for it to be over by the time I arrived."

You gulped, nodding as you remembered how she'd taken your phone after you crashed your car in the woods.

"But...Why would they want to get at you in the first place?" You finally managed. Though he wasn't known to be the friendliest person around, you'd never thought Xiao to have any enemies. Or at least, not to this extent.
