I went back to help the kids and we rested the men against the desk. I felt like my nerves were on fire. The saw was taking too long to get into the vault.

It took a few more minutes and then the hinge snapped apart, Gally swung the door open and inside were a few rows of vials full of blue liquid. Like the grief serum. I had realized now that this is how they were testing us. The Grievers had the Flare virus and the boys who survived it were the immunes and the ones who didn't, weren't. The syringes that Teresa had come up with were mock cures. Just because it had worked for Alby and Thomas didn't mean that it would work for everyone. Otherwise we wouldn't be standing here right now.

Gally grabbed a few and stuffed them in a bag. He helped us move the men into the fault, bounding them as best as we could and shut them in. Alarms went off around the room and lights flashed red.

Thomas and Newt were caught. But I had hopes that the lights and alarms meant that they weren't captured. Gally gave one of the boys the bag and the vials clanked against each other. "Guard this with your life." The kid looked scared to be holding the bag, but nodded all the same. "Okay, come one."

We ran out the door and down the hall and I was grateful that no guards had the mind to come down here. The door swung open with ease and we ran back up the stairs to the garage.

Brenda was waiting for us, leaning against a bus. She stood up straight when she saw us and helped us usher the kids inside. "Where's Thomas?" She asked.

"I thought he would be with you." When Brenda began to move he stopped her. "We'll go, wait here with the kids." She nodded and when the last of them were on the bus, she went inside. "Come on, Flore."

I sucked in a breath and put the shield down on my helmet. We walked into the building, soldiers and workers running around. "How the hell are we going to find them in this mess?" I hissed.

"I don't know-" Gally pointed at two guards that were running out of the front doors. "Them." He took off towards them and I groaned, following after him. You would think having had a spear in the lung would slow him down.

We walked behind the other soldiers, copying their brisk pace. They walked out to the front and I looked to the fountain area. A big splash had caught our attention and I looked up to see a massive hole in one of the higher windows. Three figures stood at its edge. They disappeared and then came flying out.

I had to hold back my scream as Thomas, Newt, and Minho landed in the water. I prayed for them to pop up and when they did, let out the breath I had been holding.

The guards were running towards them and I jogged to catch up. The boys climbed out of the water and the guards cocked their guns. "You three don't move." The front one yelled out.

"Oh you gotta be kidding me." Thomas muttered.

"Take it easy." Thomas's hand inched towards his gun. "Don't even think about it. Get on your knees with your hands in the air."

Gally tilted his head towards me and I turned my gun to one of the guards. I jumped from the kickback and shot again, getting the man this time. Gally had taken his solider down with one shot.

I scoffed. "Show off."

"Flore?" Minho gasped. I pulled off my helmet and ran to him, pulling him in a hug.

"Oh my god. It's good to see you."

"Gally?" I pulled away, Minho's mouth hung open.

"Minho. You guys are nuts."

"I'll explain later." Thomas panted. And our small reunion was over.

We ran away from the building and across the courtyard. There were sirens and cars driving around? Looking for us. We hid behind huge planters.
