~I'm her pet not her lover ~
Emaline Throndsone
The evening continued as if I didn't exist, and I found myself sitting alone near the eating table. It didn't bother me much, but I couldn't stop glancing at Brielle as she talked on and on to her relatives that I didn't know. She looked very stunning from her plump lips to her curvaceous body, I couldn't stop looking at her no matter how hard I had tried. She was drop-down gorgeous and very attractive, she made me -
"Girlfriend?" A voice asked, and I tracked it to a girl that looked worn out but didn't show it off until you looked closely
She had peach skin with a short cute dress that exposed her legs and shoulders, which drew me to her neck that had a leashe similar to mine. She must have been a human, I scanned her face from her brown ears and slim lips. She definitely looked human when more so when I saw the bite marks on her neck
"Your human." Was the first thing I said to her, being that it was the only thing I could think of
"Yeah. You too." She sounded as equally as excited as I was when she answered it was good to know I wasn't the only one who was human
"So is she? Your girlfriend?" She asked the question once again as I followed her finger to where she was pointing. It was Brielle
"No." I answered flatly as I was wondering why she would think that after seeing how Brielle was treating me
"Why not? You seem to be the main couple. My master tells me your girl hasn't even had an interest in anyone, much less a human girl. He thought she wasn't even capable of having emotions."
I couldn't say anything to that, so I kept quiet, not wanting to put myself under unnecessary attention, then it already was. Although the thought does linger, I highly doubt Brielle is interested in me
"I'm her pet, not her lover." I broke the silence but gave some sort of an answer that she didn't reply to
"Stella." She extended her hand, and I shook it, replying with my name," Emaline."
"Look to Brielle's left. He's Randoll, loose screw in the head but a very good leader, a perfect example of someone that is very good in politics and all that stuff, but you wouldn't want to oiss him off. It's Brielle's uncle, from her father's side of the family. They are very close, or at least they used to be after the incident he doesn't speak to her as they would." Stella informed me as I looked in Randall's direction he wore as formal as the rest of the people at the gathering, but he was in white, and I had to ask
"Firstly, how do you know? Secondly, do you by any chance know why Brielle and I are the only people wearing black?" I asked as the curiosity took over me
"Well, I'm not just a sack of blood to my master I'm also a gossip partner." She told me honestly, and something in me told me she wasn't lying, but why would she lie?
"Aren't you supposed to be careful who you tell that information to. I don't think any vampire would appreciate their pet talking about their private affairs." I spoke with the intention of finding out where her loyalty lies
"Look near the back doors, the one with a silver looking brooch. That's Gabriel, his my master and he doesn't really care what I do as long as I don't get him killed." Gabriel was objectively attractive with the stylish blonde looks and blue eyes
"So do you know why I'm wearing black and not white like other people?" I shifted my gaze back to Brielle, and she was laughing along with the rest of the people there. Her smile was elegant without fail
"Brielle loves to cause a scene, something I've noticed with the few years I've been here. She loves to stand out and call for attention. This was an all white party, after all. The one standing to Brielle's right is Amber, aunt from her father's side another loose screw of a human although she doesn't have any skills just a beautiful face and fortune teller from both past and present, she's a half fairy and half vampire." Amber looked alike with Brielle they could be mistaken as sisters. The only difference that tore them apart was Amber was more well-rounded, and Brielle was sharp edged
"They look so alike." I responded with the immediate thought in my mind
"Yeah, you could probably say that her father and Amber were twins."
The more Stella spoke and uncovered secrets, the more I wanted to ask, but the more I asked, the more Brielle would punish me for disobeying her. Hopefully, she doesn't find out
"What happened to her father? I heard he left." I finally spoke after moments of silence, trying to figure out what the best decision was. At least truth doesn't kill anyone
"Who knows? A lot of theories have gone around, and unfortunately, only the royal family knows." I looked back at Brielle as if I could uncover the truth with my eyes on her
"Whose the one adjust Amber?" The lady looked alike with Randoll, and I couldn't help but assume they were relatives
"That's Rosaline. Another one of Brielle's aunt. Randoll, Amber, and her are sisters."
"You didn't mention any of Brielle's family from her mother's side." I turned back to Stella, wondering why she's being silent, and I find her looking back at Gabriel. I tried to snap her out of some sort of trance she was in by repeatedly calling her name, and eventually, she did turn back to me
"Okay, love bird, I'm -" she cut me off by leaving without another word, going in Gabriel's direction, and I started to wonder if she was called by Gabriel because she wasn't supposed to talk to me but I sooner got the reason as I saw Brielle come closer to me
"Hold my blazer for me, my little demon." She took it off and put it on my shoulders. The action was very similar to how boyfriends would give their girlfriends their jerseys or jackets because it was cold or rather it felt that way, although I wasn't cold
"Why?" I asked, immediately feeling out of tone, but Brielle didn't mention it
"I can't fight with my blazer on. I'll come back for it. Keep it safe for me, won't you? You've been such a good girl." Her words gave me butterflies, and I ended up feeling flustered and all over the place
Did she actually mean that?
