Once they finished breakfast, they decided to get some fresh air and explore the non-populated part of the island.
They held paws and walked in comfortable silence down the dirt road through the dense, tropical forest.
Freddy's estate was on an entirely different continent with a whole different climate. It was always cold and foggy where he lived, and it was covered in snow six months of the year. Being an officer, he started loving the tropics.
It was always summer on the islands. The white sand, the colorful trees and animals, everything about it is so bright and lively. Just like Bonnie.
They walked past a small hibiscus tree. The red flowers matched Bonnie's eyes, but the bunny had not noticed it.
Freddy silently took one as they walked by it and gazed at Bonnie. The second he looked at him, he could not pull his gaze away.
There were specks of light shining through the canopy of trees around them. They lit up Bonnie's face so beautifully. His blue fur stood out from the vast colors around them. He remembered how soft it was and felt the urge to pull him in and bury his nose in the bunny's fluffy bangs again.
The bunny looked over and caught him staring, but Freddy did not mind. He no longer had to hide his attraction for the bunny.
"Is there something on my face...?" Bonnie teased, snapping him out of his daydream. Freddy chuckled, lifting the flower and placing it in his hair.
"No... I still cannot believe how lucky I am." He spoke softly.
"The flower looks better on you than mine did." He laughed. Bonnie giggled as well.
"Thank you, but I meant what I said, you know. You're very handsome."
Freddy blushed and turned away shyly, making Bonnie snicker again.
"You're so cute!"
Have you looked at yourself?? Freddy wanted to say, but decided against it. They reached the other side of the island to a more secluded beach and Bonnie guided him towards a massive stone cave looking over the ocean. It was the bunny who insisted they came to this spot, so Freddy trusted his judgment.
Now that they were in the sun, Freddy was enamored in the way Bonnie's fur shined and his eyes glowed in color. The light ocean breeze was blowing towards them and Bonnie's bangs flowed so beautifully in the wind.
They had to climb a few stones and walk along the entrance to reach the large cave opening. Inside was a waterfall and small body of water surrounded by stone. It was connected to a stream leading out to the sea.
They stopped a few feet by the water and Freddy looked on in awe. "It's beautiful, Bonnie..."
The bunny smiled, pulling off his shirt. "I knew you would like it."
Freddy grew flustered suddenly. "W-what are you- are you planning to swim in this??"
Bonnie nodded. "Yes, it's fun! We need to bathe again before we leave anyway."
Freddy scoffed but removed his shirt anyway. "You can not just swim in any body of water. It is dangerous!"
The bunny barely paid attention to what he said and grabbed his paw, pulling him towards the water while he retaliated. Bonnie laughed and pulled even harder.
"Honey, you're going to make me trip on the rocks!" Freddy warned.
"So you better move forward, too!" He grinned.
After a few more forced steps, Freddy slipped and fell into the water, accidently taking Bonnie with him.
He forced his head past the water line and sputtered, wiping his eyes. While he sat, the water nearly reached his chest. Bonnie peeked out of the water with his eyes but kept the rest of his body under the surface.
"Do you know how risky swimming into random water is?? You can get hypothermia, or a cold, o-or a parasite -" He rambled. Bonnie silenced him by spitting a mouthful of water at him and giggling.
Freddy could not stay mad at him and playfully splashed him with water. "You're a menace!"
Bonnie crawled over his body until their faces were an inch apart and gave him a flirtatious smirk.
"You love it, though."
Freddy felt himself grow shy but excited with anticipation. "I-I do..."
He leaned in to kiss Bonnie, and their lips hardly brushed against each other before the bunny pulled away suddenly, grinning mischievously.
"I changed my mind." He shrugged.
Freddy felt himself heat up more. "Y-you can't just change your mind right before the kiss!" He whined. Bonnie chuckled and pushed his soaked bangs back.
"I just did." He stuck his tongue out. He squealed and swam away as he saw Freddy was chasing him. It did not take long for the bear to catch up to him. Before Freddy could grab him, he disappeared under the water.
"Bonnie??" He glanced down.
When saw Bonnie sinking into the water, he felt panic build up within him, fearing he was drowning.
He dove under the surface and hurriedly swam down to grab him again. Bonnie smiled and swam closer to him, pulling him in to kiss under the water.
Freddy forgot the situation they were in and melted into it, holding the bunny closely to him as they deepened the kiss.
When they pulled away, Freddy realized he was running out of air and resurfaced, Bonnie following him. They swam to the more shallow end, and Bonnie pulled him into yet another much shorter passionate kiss.
Bonnie was quite the tease. It made Freddy's heart pound in his chest, and his limbs felt like mush.
When they finished, they helped bathe each other in the water and left to dry off on the rocks.
He lifted his shirt again and noticed Bonnie had his arms crossed and was trembling like a leaf, even after getting dressed. Freddy gave him an 'I told you so' look.
"You're cold now, aren't you?"
Bonnie scoffed stubbornly. "No... I'm just... shaking."
Freddy shook his head goodheartedly and wrapped his own dry shirt around Bonnie's shoulders.
"Freddy, I'm going to soak your shirt -" He fretted. Freddy leaned down to kiss his forehead.
"I can replace the shirt... but I do not want you getting sick." He bent over to pick up the discarded flower and carefully placed it back in Bonnie's hair.
They sat on the rocks and watched the sea for the next few hours in the shade of the cave. Freddy had his head on Bonnie's lap, laying comfortable while the Bunny held him and pet his head. He shut his eyes contently and relaxed to Bonnie's gentle touch and the sound of the sea.
"Hey, Freddy?" He broke the silence.
Freddy hummed to give him his attention.
"Do you want to get married...?" He asked nervously. Freddy's eyes shot open, and he glanced up at Bonnie in shock. "W-what...?"
The bunny grew shy now, and his bangs obscured his eyes. "Well... this is a pirate haven... it's the safest place for us to be married. If we try anywhere else, we could be arrested."
Freddy was silent for a moment, making Bonnie less confident. His ears dropped, and he glanced away.
"I-if you don't want to, that's fine, I..." He was cut off as Freddy sat up and embraced him.
"...I'd love to, Bonnie!"
