Freddy could not bring himself to go back to sleep before apologizing.

He felt so bad for snapping at Bonnie like that. He was only trying to help, and there was no reason for Freddy to treat them that way. What happened was not his fault.

He sighed and forced himself out of his hammock to look for him. There was one other hammock with someone laying in it. He approached it and opened the sheet at the front to look in.

Bonnie was curled up and facing away from him while he tried to sleep. He could tell the bunny was awake based on his breathing.

"...Bonnie, I... I'm sorry..." He whispered.

The bunny sat up and faced him through teary eyes. Freddy reached out and cupped their cheeks in his paws.

"I-I know it was not your fault... nothing you did was... I'm so sorry!" He repeated, his voice breaking. Bonnie scooted over so he could sit with him and Freddy hurriedly crawled in the small space with him.

"It's okay, Freddy... I... I understand why you would blame me..."

Freddy sighed deeply. "I wasn't angry at you, my love... I was angry at myself..."

"... and I was scared... if I can not protect anyone... how will I protect you...?"

Bonnie smiled and shook his head goodheartedly. "You're my husband, Freddy... not my body guard. Your sole purpose is not to protect me."

Freddy took both of his paws in his own and leaned in so their foreheads would connect.

"Of course it is! I should be keeping you safe, I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you..." they looked deeply into each other's eyes. Bonnie broke contact first as he winced and pulled away.

"...are you alright, honey-?" Freddy asked in concern. Bonnie held his stomach tightly and made a face of discomfort.

"I feel sick-" his voice shook.

Freddy furrowed his brows in confusion. "Are you sea sick?"

Bonnie shook his head. "I've been on a ship my whole life, honey... that wouldn't happen."

Freddy grew more concerned, so Bonnie brushed it off with a smile.

"I'm fine, honey... Let's just get back to our hammock." He insisted.

Freddy decided to stop prying the issue and nodded. "But when we get onto land tomorrow, you should try to see a doctor. Just to make sure it is nothing serious."

Bonnie nodded and kissed his cheek gently. The bunny has gotten sick a few times on and off the past two months. Although he seemed fine, Freddy was suspecting something was wrong.

As they were about to get up, Freddy lifted the bunny over his shoulder.

Bonnie giggled. "I can walk on my own, honey! I'm not that sick!"

Freddy shook his head and lifted him back to their bed. "It is job to take care of you, and that's that."

He placed Bonnie back on their bed carefully and crawled in himself. As soon as he layed down, Bonnie wrapped his arms around him and cuddled into his chest.

"You're so good to me, Freddy..."

The bear smiled and held him close. "Goodnight, Bonnie. I love you."
The bunny nuzzled closer to him and sighed contently.

"I love you, too..."

...

They docked on a continent farther from the islands. Bonnie had never actually left his home, so it would be a whole new world for him.
