"I'M AFRAID FOR your safety, Enesha." Alexander sipped the coffee she made for him. Si Jack naman ay nakaupo sa kanyang tabi at may itinitipa sa cellphone nito, pero natigilan ito nang marinig ang sinabi ni Alex.

Jack looked at her, and from her psychology book, her eyes glanced up to Alex who was looking at the window, his legs crossed, and his other arm was resting on the armrest.

Tumagilid ang kanyang ulo at tiningnan ito. Ibinaba naman ni Jack ang cellphone at sumandal sa upuan habang hindi inaalis ang tingin kay Alex.

Naramdaman niyang pasimple siyang siniko nito, so she gave him a sideways glance.

"Pwede bang huwag mong sabayan ang pagiging cold ni Alex? Ako lang ang loko-loko rito. Sa akin ka muna sasabay," bulong nito kaya mahina siyang natawa at napailing bago muling tiningnan si Alex.

"The chateau is safe, Alex-"

"Masyado kang kampante, Enesha. Paano kung bigla ka na lang kunin habang naglalakad ka? Tapos ibebenta ang lamang-loob mo sa black market o 'di kaya gagawin kang shabu at ibebenta sa Silk Road?"

"Silk Road doesn't exist anymore, Jaxavion. Ross Ulbricht was already caught six years ago. You're too outdated." Alex put the cup on the table and looked at them.

"Sabi ko nga. Pero marami pa namang alternative ang Silk Road, ah! Nakita ko nga si Enesha no'ng isang araw, nag-dive roon sa Alph-Aray!"

Malakas itong napasigaw nang kalmado niyang inapakan ang paa nito. Ang kanyang tingin ay nanatili kay Alex na ngayon ay kunot-noong nakatingin sa kanya.

"What are you doing on an illegal website?" He cocked his head to the other side and rested both of his arms on the armrest.

She shrugged. "I was just curious, Alex. But let's go back to the main topic." Umayos siya ng upo. "What about my safety?"

Alex looked out the window once again, the natural light making his face glow. "We all know that they are still looking for you, Enesha. We have to be three steps ahead of them in case may mangyari. Not one or two, but three."

"They will do everything in their power to have you back in their laboratory again. Dapat na nating pagplanuhan 'to ngayon pa lang," Jack said, gone was his goofy aura.

Kinuha nito ang tasa na may lamang kape sa mesa at dumekwatro muna ng upo bago iyon ininom. She heard how he sipped the coffee, and when he was done sipping, tumingin ito sa kanila.

"May naisip ako."

They just looked at him, waiting for his explanation. Licking his lips, Jack let out a goofy grin.

"Why don't we place a counter trigger on you instead? Something that will surely make you break free from their hypnosis kapag binabanggit nila ang salitang iyon," saad nito at tumingin sa baba na para bang nag-iisip.

She blinked at the thought, at kahit hindi siya napaisip, her lips automatically formed words, like those words were really meant to be a counter to all hypnotic triggers placed on her.

"Number Two."

Her brothers looked at her.

She could feel her heart thump in her chest that it rang in her ears. Sunod-sunod siyang napalunok, but she tried so hard to contain her emotions.

"Number Two. That's what they called me before. They always called us by our lab names."

Nagpalipat-lipat ang kanyang tingin sa mga kapatid. They stared at her for a few moments, and when Jack clapped once as if he found that counter amazing, napakurap siya at napatingin dito. There was a goofy smile spreading across his lips.
