Chapter 39

"You better stop being so paranoid, unless you want to end up like our father" Kinn said arrogantly, which only made Kim more furious. He was actually surprised to see the usual calm Kim being so mad at someone and actually expressing it instead of simply continuing his schemes in the dark.

"Paranoid? Paranoid!? How dare you tell me that I'm paranoid when you're always doing things behind my back! I knew you don't like the way I handle things, but that's how it is, so you better say it out loud when you disagree with my methods instead of plotting with my own lawyer!" Kim shouted angrily.

"Kim, I think we should all calm down for a moment" Porsche intervened.

"You're talking about calming down? The same Porsche I found fighting people in a night club for no actual reason?! Why don't you just shut up and go on a shopping spree like you always do?" Kim responded. Porsche was shocked by that, he pushed Kinn away and jumped onto Kim, he was ready to punch him in the face, but he stopped after noticing how Kim almost looked like he enjoyed that, since it basically proved his point.

"Stop it everyone! I beg of you, we cannot go on like this anymore!" Chay interrupted them and managed to pull Porsche away from his target. Tankhun was watching quite annoyed, since he surely enjoyed the drama unfolding in that office.

"It was Kinn who..." Kim started trying to justify his rage, but Chay just shook his head and slammed his hand on the desk so loudly that everyone fell silent.

"I don't give a fuck about it! You're just as arrogant as Kinn. I told you I was ready to face the verdict for what I did, and even though you knew that I was surely going to be deemed innocent, you decided to handle it your way. Why? Because I'm too frail, I'm just an innocent child, right?!" Chay yelled.

"Chay..." Kim said in despair.

Chay sighed and walked to the door, then he turned back and added:

"We will handle it the way you decided to, since it is too late to change it. I hope you will change your attitude after the trial, because I'm not going to stay by your side if you keep thinking of yourself as my babysitter or bodyguard, instead of my husband"

Chay was right about the way the trial ended: that fateful day Charn easily won the case for his client, a few bureaucratic processes weren't over yet, but they were just mere formalities at that point, Kim was innocent and there was no way to prove the opposite.

"Is it over?" Tinn asked while holding Charn's hand. They were sitting at the dining table of their apartment, the young lawyer was waiting eagerly for the last part of the payment to reach his bank account, and as soon as the notification rang, he turned to his husband and hugged him tight.

"Yes, it is over, oh wait..."

"What's wrong? Don't tell me that..." Tinn asked preoccupied.

"oh... it is an invitation... oh my god, Thanthai is getting married and he invites us to his wedding! Well, I should have seen that coming"
